I agree but I think the WSOP already knows that. They must know something that we don't or else they would have done it already.

Is the registration still over in the same cage as the SNG satellites?

What time did you get in line to register? Trying to gauge how early I need to be there.

I cannot wait until the WSOP gets their act together and allows some sort of kiosk registration. If every single airline at every single airport can pull it off, I don't see why 1 casino cannot.
They won't do that because they have this "thing" about needing to verify that the person registering is the person that's going to play. Which I don't understand at all. This is one of the WSOP's stupider foibles. As long as the person that shows up to play is the person that's registered, I don't see the big deal. Other tournaments allow it.

Someday, you'll be able to register online and transfer money out of your bank account directly to pay for it just like you pay bills online. I guess it still takes overnight for the bank to process the transaction. There's no technological reason that payments can't be made to post in real-time, but banks are going to take awhile to catch up to the 21st century.

What about online registration using PayPal? That's instantaneous.

Never happen. PayPal hates gambling. I remember when we could find online accounts using PayPal, then eBay bought them and poof. Gone.

You may underestimate how cheap humans are. Developing networked systems solid enough for end users isn't inexpensive. Kiosks still need maintenance--particularly those with printers--and cash acceptance Just adds more potential mechanical issues.

A number of the grocery chains that were moving whole-hog into self-checkout systems have pulled back due to a number of technical and performance issues. Imperfect as they are, humans are still better at dealing with variable situations than software written by humans.

Re: Rio Daily Deepstacks (during wsop)

Update from yesterday - 1,571 runners including Chris Moneymaker. 1st was a rediculous $60+K for a $235 investment. However, at 40K/20K/5K an "average" stack was <15BBs! If you have a clue about short stack pre-flop poker, this event stays soft well through the money.

Just win your races & avoid the landmines. I finally fixed my "run good" for a 27/1571 finish (/brag)

1:30 in the morning. I'm guessing they played until 4-5 if they played it out.

I confirm that you can have an adge with a good shortstack pf strategy.

Still have to win lots of races tho, mincashed yesterday but i'm going to keep trying when i'm not playing a wsop event. Def skipping the venetian 600s from now on.

If by this you mean spiking 4 3-outers in a row, then I fully agree. AK>KK, AQ>QQ, AQ>QQ, and AT>KK with a TT8 flop.

I ran just slightly cooler than the LV heat.

You can also register at the main registration cage, I got in line at about 1:25 last Friday and was registered by 1:50pm before the first level started. Not a bad wait.

1380 registered...went out about 280.
