I've played NLH WSOP events for a few years now, but this is the first year that my trip aligns with the $1500 PLO/8 event, which is my best game.

Curious about how it plays compared to online MTT's. Can anyone with experience comment on the skill level? For +EV online players is it a better or worse value than similar buy-in NLH bracelet events? General thoughts?

Posted this in the Omaha/8 forum, but didn't get any responses, so looking for info here instead.

It's better value if you are good at the game. Barely any live plo8 cash runs anywhere so people are worse at the game imo.

The average player in the plo8 field is much worse than in the nlh fields. That can be said for most every game. The average knowledge of NLH mtts is just higher than in less played games.

Thanks guys. This was 100% my assumption for the reasons you stated, but have always had a family obligation and missed the plo/8 events. NLH is a mixed bag - I've been at tables w/ old clueless guys and at a table with two bracelet winners (which by the way, wasn't totally fun to be on their immediate right). Am hoping that PLO/8 is softer.

It's a shame that the WSOP is taxed 50% for me, so I can't play any O8 events there. (Skill edge might be high, but 50% is bull****) EPT Barcelona has 3 events, so I'm probably playing those...I wish Prague/Rozvadov/Berlin and more playes ran these MTT's...

Ya the unfortunate thing for mixed game players is there are barely any big field mix game events anywhere in the world. However, the wsop is quite soft because so many guys who are basically hold em players take shots in these events.
