Deep Stack on Saturday 8/24 looks interesting. $500 plus $50 with 25k starting chips with the add on and forty minute levels starting at 50/100. Championship event the following Friday and Saturday also looks solid. On Sunday 8/25, they are running their normal $40 plus $10 tournaments at 2PM and 7PM. Poker room said they had built these up to a pretty regular 100-120 players and did not want to disrupt that.
Pirates schedule Monday 8/25-Wednesday 8/27 versus Cardinals at 7:05, 7:05 and 12:35PM, Friday 8/29-Sunday 8/31 versus Reds at 7:05, 4:05 and 1:35PM. Pirates web site has links to a variety of downtown hotels if you do not want to stay further out. More expensive so I'll be staying further out. There are lots of reasons to play a series beyond it having the best of the best of the best structures.
I guess the thing that may deter me away from the mainevent (likely only event I would play), would be that they only need 50 players to hit guarantee? Why is the guarantee so low for a 1k?
