Orleans Open May 19-27

http://static.boydgaming.net/orleans...sOpen_2012.pdf

Anyone have any info on this series? Specifically the blind structures? I thought it looked like a great value at 45 minute levels for the no limit ones, but I found some old info from years past that the blinds and antes were badly structured. I'm looking to play a couple nlhe and maybe an O8 while I'm out there for a week or two starting the 18th. Thanks.

Even if its the same structures as the friday night tournament it would be the best structure available anywhere in town for a $500 tourney or under. Pretty sure ill be there on Saturday

Anyone make it out to either of the first two events? Looking for info on number of runners, structure, how well it was run, whether it is worth checking out, etc...

thanks

Re: Orleans Open May 19-27

Played event 3 today. 189 entries. I thought structure was really good for a 225 buyin. It took us until 12:30am to play down to 19 players, so 10.5 hours. The only thing that was silly was they waited until a break before coloring up chips. As such, we ended up holding onto our green/black chips for 1 or 2 extra levels when they were unneccessary before there was a scheduled color up. That seemed cumbersome.

The floor seemed to do a good enough job keeping the tables balanced and all that stuff and the dealers were good, except for one.

They gave us a $5 food voucher for signing up.

We'll restart at noon tomorrow.

Re: Orleans Open May 19-27

Also, I thought my tables were quite tough for a $225 buyin. In my experience, the June tournaments are considerably softer. I think this is because right now good tournament players don't have much going on. If you play a similar buy in at binions or caesars in a few weeks, a lot of the better players will be playing bigger buy ins at Wynn, Venetian, GN and Rio.

Then again, my friend who also played said his tables weren't too bad, so it could just be luck of the draw.

You wouldn't happen to be Anthony would you? I'm Rob. If you made the final 10 or were at the table closest to the slot machines then we played each other.

Skipping $500-1000 in any buyin is unacceptable. The limit games are penalized with 30 min levels and skip key levels. 2 1/2 hours in playing 600-1200 Cmon.

Yeah, the limit structures seem pretty ridiculous.

The NL structures were decent other than missing 500/1000 and 5000/10000. I just don't get why you expect $200-$300 tournaments to have a great structure though.

No, I am Nick. I was at the final table in seat 5. Which seat were you?

so whats better in town for under 500$ with 12.5k chips and 45 min levels? doubt you can come up with an answer. the longer levels make it better than the 350/400s at venetian imo
