You can see the schedule and the structure of every event in the link below. Two tournaments almost everyday with a great variety of games. Never seen a better schedule for those that like all the various limit games. Plenty of nl holdem too. Should be exceptionally ran as always.

Having a break every hour is excessive IMO. 2 hours of play please. (340 deep stacks and 7PM nightlys).

Also calling a tourny "deep stack" with 30 minute levels is quite deceptive. The non deepstack tournies have better structures (talking about the 340 NL).

I do like the variety. I'm looking forward to the 1k HORSE which has an awesome structure.

Concur these are not truly deep stack events, breaks are excessive, I wasnt really impressed with any of the starting chip amounts for any of the events,(deep stack or not) not as good as WSOP Circuit New Orleans. With all the negativity I will still be there most likely 8/1-8/3/4

The structure is better than New Orleans. Remember it is not always about starting chips. Although I to am not a fan of the "deep stack" tourney, these other tournaments are GREAT. And alot of play towards the end. I wish I could play because I love the variety of tournaments we have. I look foward to seeing you guys this month!!!!!!!!!!

I made my reservation today and will probably play on Sunday, July 28 in the mega satellite. This will be my first time playing in a live satellite of this type so please give me any advice and/or tips you may have about these events. I have been playing online for a little over a year and I play for a few hours almost every day. I have played in several live cash games and a couple of live tournaments. Online I do very well in SNGs and pretty well in MTTs with some MTT cashes and one 2nd place finish (707 players). I usually finish MTTs in the top 5-10% I have also finished in the money in several freerolls. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

When I asked the poker room manager at the GoldStrike when registration started for the various events the only answer I could was you can just register when you get here so I guess there isn't any pre-registration available. Some of the poker room staff at the GoldStrike are very friendly and helpful and some are downright rude.

Just go to this link select the wpt look up the event and you will see the play schedule at the end of the PDF.

Most events play day 1 to a final table and start day 2 at 4:00PM

I'm headed out there planning on going the 26th to 5th. My question is can i get better rates because im playing the tournaments, or is that not gonna happen since there are so many people out there for them. SHOuld i just book online?

Also, I'm flying into Memphis and was wondering what the cheapest way to get to TUnica is.

The cash games are normally pretty good during these tournaments. The regular poker room fills up and they have higher stakes tables in one of the banquet hall rooms.

Gold Strike is offering a $69 room rate for tournament players.

You should call the casino you are staying at and see if they can send you a free ride to pick you up from the airport.

Also, if you are pretty high up on the Total Rewards (Harrah's casinos) status, you should check and see if you can get a comped room or discounted rates at the Horseshoe. It's literally right next to the Gold Strike. That's where I'll be staying. Definitely has a better buffet too.

Can anybody confirm that Event #22 is for sure a Limit Hold'em tournament? On the poker room page AND in the structure sheet, it says Limit Hold'em however on the PDF Promo that they've been using for advertising, it says Event 22 is No-Limit. I'm pretty sure that it is a Limit Event.

Anybody ever played in the Limit event at WPO? How many players?

Had to call them back and I left a message and got a prompt polite call back. I was told registration for each event opens the day before the event. I may play in the ladies tournament on Saturday, July 25 and the mega-sat on Sunday at 4:00.

Don't know if you've been to Tunica before or not but it's about 30 minutes south of Memphis and I would definitely suggest renting a car. Everything is pretty spread out. There is a Horseshoe and Sheraton (both owned by Harrah's) next to the GoldStrike but the $69 rate for the tournament is probably a better rate than you'll get there or elsewhere. Beware that the other casinos in Tunica are a few minutes (driving time) away from the GoldStrike.

I prefer the Horseshoe poker room over GoldStrike but the GoldStrike is very nice.

Have fun and I'll be there during the same time.
