I stayed in the Cavalieri before and it is a good midrange place, five mins from casino and a great spot on the bay. Internet also worked great there with cable connection, but this was a little while back.

I'd also like to know what the deal is now for players choice tickets for UK players. Can we just use them for any event as before, can we just do this on the day at the desk even though we can't use our accounts.

For example, want to use a ticket for one of the stud events, but playing other events before, so can't reg using the ticket in advance.

It sucks that it will be too cold to go swimming. Is Malta a fun place to visit even if you can't swim in the sea.

Very long shot but the person who was flying with me to Malta on the 21st and back on the 29th from London Gatwick with easyjet cancelled so I'm looking to sell the spare seat on the plane for a discounted rate instead of just getting the tax back for a cancellation. The only down side is that you will have to sit next to me. Please PM me if this matches anyone's schedule (it gets you there for 1st day of the EPT qualifier hotel booking and back on the day of checkout).

Is using a credit card to buy chips and then register really not considered a cash advance inside the casino?

This would be great for some of us from America, who want to pay with cash but don't want to carry a lot of it.

The schedule has been announced for a while now and today I wake up to find the schedule has been changed to move the 25k to the 18th from 19th , along with 10k being moved which is probably less of an issue. Apparently for the global poker masters which if I have to be honest nearly no one not involved cares about.. This is unfair to players since a lot of people have booked flights and/or accommodation already including me, I have plans that now can't be changed and don't want to miss the 25k, players have known and mentioned the GPM have conflicted with ept events they wanted to play for 3 months now and they only decide to change it now from 19th to 18th. I made plans and booked flights etc based on this as I wanted to play and now it's looking unlikely. Ideally i don't want to late reg start of day 2 for a 25k when I can play from early on but this doesn't even look possible as I arrive 2pm~ at airport on day 2. I imagine I am not the only one in a similar position, arriving in time for day 2 is quite lame anyway as most players will prefer to play from early levels (especially when reentry is possible) as opposed to max late reg for day 2 start.

In the off chance I am really the only one affected (as a lot of grinders obviously do go early, but I'm pretty sure most of the time some go later and would have skipped the 1k etc) then I'll suck it up and just skip this tourney

I booked this a month ago and the schedule on the EPT site was the same as it is now.

The 25k was changed to be earlier, but the change was made over a month ago. And yes, it is kind of annoying that it is so early...I'd be playing it if it was being held later as was originally planned.

Hmmm my mistake. I apologise about the last minute part of my complaint. I guess I just figured out when the latest I could go without skipping anything important (for me, personally) was and remembered it, I didn't check if schedule was changed altho I don't think any announcement was made etc.
One month is obviously more reasonable although people still make their plans earlier than this and flights or plans aren't always reversible or changeable as is in my case. My girlfriend booked a flight on 1st feb and asked me when we needed to leave. We wanted to spend as much as time as possible together so I looked at the schedule and arriving late on the last day of the 1k meant I wasn't skipping anything important based on the schedule, I booked the same flight without checking the schedule again (no reason to, why should it change, in my mind?) and as a result can't play this now..

And the reason is still quite lame, especially since it was known since at latest January that GPM players were not keen on participating due to low personal benefit versus cost of missing ept events and that non GPM players don't care at all about this event

Question on side note, can you credit €T for players who play the 25k of they have a 1k ticket? Seems like a very fair reason if players want to play the 25k instead for players to want to skip the 1k and get a €T refund

I tried to do this in Barcelona and it showed up as a cash advance. I asked Pokerstars and Casino Barcelona about 10 times for confirmation before I flew to Barcelona. Incredibly frustrating.

No worries, you'll get in with pretty much anything, especially during an event like this. It's not as strict as it sounds. Jeans would be fine either way.

Wearing jeans would probably put you in the 10% dressing of the field
