Official FPS2 and EPT9 Deauville Thread - January 30 - February 9, 2013
 

Hi All,

The EPT returns to Deauville in 2013 with the Grand Final of the France Poker Series and the 5th stop of the EPT :cool:

A couple of notes specific to EPT Deauville -

1 - In France, you cannot have a re-entry to a tournament that does not have more than one starting day. The Highroller is normally a single re-entry, but for Deauville it will be a single rebuy. We are considering limiting the rebuy with rules (i.e. must have 10K or less, must be busted, etc...). Our intention has never been for the 10K to turn into a 20K or 30K buyin tournament and we feel strongly about that. Just a short explanation for why it says RB down below.

2 - Normally for EPT, we allow players who have been eliminated from the Main Event on Day 1A to play the Satellites that take place in the evening of Day 1A. If they win a seat, they just get cash. For Deauville this will not be possible.

3 - The 10K EPT PLO Championships! As mentioned at the start of EPT Season 9, we will have three 10K Championship Events this season. The first one was held in Barcelona and we got 32 runners for the 10K Heads Up Championships! PLO now takes center stage during EPT Deauville (with 8 Game to follow in London). There will be online qualifying for this event, seat only, no packages.

4 - The FPS Grand Final will take place inside the casino and the EPT will take place at the Conference Center next to the casino. For those who have been to the EPT in Deauville before, FPS is where EPT was during Season 4-6 and EPT is where it has been for the last two seasons.

5 - Language Clarification - You'll see a note at the bottom about "double addons". Barriere uses that term for all their events to mean you get double chips when you take an addon. For the EPT, we just call it an addon and give double chips. We didn't want people thinking they could double buy on the addon for quadruple chips, so we added that note.

At this time, there is no online DBI allowed for Side Events. Only PCA, London and Monaco on the remaining schedule allow DBI on the PokerStars Client.

Will the FPS tourney have any online Sats for world players?

With the doubling up of tourneys (EPT/Regional) the interest for the regional events has greatly increased. I think you guys would have no problem running multiple sats a week for the FPS portion. Perhaps a 215 on Sunday, a 109/82 on Saturday and a couple 11 rebuys during the week.

schedule looks great, hope to make the short trip over the channel.

one though NeilJ, slightly inspired by your big PCA package giveaway. with so many 'National Tours' and packages being available, maybe you could do a big promotion where you had a mega-sat and gave 100 packages guaranteed. this would get more than just doing it for a particular tour, as you would have the flexibility to choose your event, and it would be a great way of publicising the national tours.

this could be a Xmas promotion, monthly, or whenever, but I think it's a good idea from a businesses point of view for Stars. rake online via the sat and 100+ players in tours around Europe. I honestly think after the PCA sats with good lobby placement you could smash 100 packages.

That's a 150k guarantee... I think dropping a zero might make better sense but I wouldn't complain. I do agree that the National Tours are a great concept but need to be better promoted. Adding all regional tournaments with a 1k buy in would help. Also a $109 on either Saturday or Sunday would go nicely with the $215 on Wednesday.

ya Sect fwiw i wasn't suggest putting all the eggs in one basket, like 10 every sunday for 10 weeks or something like they do for the PCA, but obviously slightly different as PCA $10 > $16,000 and overlay! :)

How is Deauville as a City?(Bars/Pubs and stuff) Weather gonna be ****ty I guess at that time of the year and a 3k population seems ... well not that fun to go out and stuff.

I really wanna play live and this would be a nice stop

i've heard its a bit out of the way and hard to get to, although there's a small airport that have flights from London City. the place is quite small and from what i've heard and the casino is really expensive for food and drink.

yes the place is small, but you will be getting an influx of 500+ poker players who will be all wanting to party, plus if you make the trip with people you know makes it a lot better.

is the French raise rule enforced for EPT festival ? meaning min raise has to be 2x previous bet ? this Q is for both side events and EPT main

also, do the cards look funny (aka French style) or will we use EPT style cards for ALL events ?

any other country/french specific rules I should know about ? first time on the French felt so I'd like to know as much as possible about them

also, weather wise, I will be driving across the channel so wanna know if I'll be facing any snow or not on the roads from Calais to D and back .. cheers Neil !

Sect and Muppet - I've forwarded the questions and discussions to our Sat guys. I have very little involvement with the online Sat side of the events, but I always forward the feedback.

NiSash - 6 - The city is beautiful, but the weather is pretty cold when we go. Not exactly Barcelona for nightlife, but still some things to go and places to see. This year I plan on taking some time to go down and see all the WWII stuff. We're right around the corner from Normandy and D-Day landing sites and a bunch of people have told me it is definitely worth a visit.

Ase - 9 - The French raise rule is enforced for all Events as it is part of French Gaming Law. We will be using Barriere chips and cards for all events. The raise rule is the only "French" variation to our rules. All other rules are GPTL Tournament Rules, the same as all other PS Events. Weather wise I have been snowed on twice in Deauville in 6 EPT's. Only one was serious snow though.
