Hi Rocco,
Like the other contract stuff I mentioned, it isn't as easy as you make it sound. The pressures our 'audience' puts on typical hotel internet are significant and way heavier than your average conference that most hotels are used to. Each room is probably the standard 4 laptops, 3 tablets, 3 phones, all online at the same time. The devices are all working poker platforms, livestreaming, downloading, messaging, playing games and skyping...and that is just ONE room.
Many hotels have the perspective that their internet is perfectly fine and has basically zero complaints...except one week a year. It is very difficult to explain to a hotel why they need to do a massive 6-7 figure upgrade to their infrastructure (actual negotiation discussion with one of our partners in the past) when they only have complaints during our event.
We do everything we can to meet the internet needs of our players. We're an online poker company, of course we want you to be able to play online
I'm sorry you had a bad internet experience during IOM but I hope you know that is never our intention.
Cheers,
Neil
