In the online calendar, beside a couple of the single rebuy/add-on sats to the Main it says "(Max Spend Allowed)". What does that mean in this context?

Hi all,

The opt-out option is under discussion.

Every contract is different since every venue and hotel deal is different and some of these deals are multi-year deals that have been in place for a number of seasons. It is not as simple as saying 'let's allow opt-out' or 'no opt out'.

It is under discussion amongst all parties and we will post next week with further details.

Cheers,

Hi Mike,

In a standard RB/AO tourney, if you reach the AO portion without having used your RB and you have more than a starting stack then you are not allowed to purchase the RB portion. For EPT11 we switched to a 'Max Spend' formula which allows the players to use their RB in that situation if they so choose.

Cheers,

I understand the contract terms Neil, but is Pokerstars fault to give us a good hotel with A GOOD INTERNET CONNECTION.

I'm in the Isle Of Man for the UKIPT since i won a package, and since staying in the qualifiers hotel, and internet was kinda good, but then went down for 5hr last night while i was grinding. THIS IS NOT A PLAYERS FAULT, and it's been a while stars didn't have a GOOD hotel with a GOOD INTERNET.

p.s. for anyone curiosity, stars is working trough a refund so if this goes well, it's not that big a deal besides some k's over other sites

Hi all,

Hotel opt-out will be available for both EPT Prague and Eureka Prague. I can't speak to future EPT's in Season 11 (or National Tour events), but I can confirm hotel opt-out for both Eureka and EPT Prague.

Cheers,

Hi Rocco,

Like the other contract stuff I mentioned, it isn't as easy as you make it sound. The pressures our 'audience' puts on typical hotel internet are significant and way heavier than your average conference that most hotels are used to. Each room is probably the standard 4 laptops, 3 tablets, 3 phones, all online at the same time. The devices are all working poker platforms, livestreaming, downloading, messaging, playing games and skyping...and that is just ONE room.

Many hotels have the perspective that their internet is perfectly fine and has basically zero complaints...except one week a year. It is very difficult to explain to a hotel why they need to do a massive 6-7 figure upgrade to their infrastructure (actual negotiation discussion with one of our partners in the past) when they only have complaints during our event.

We do everything we can to meet the internet needs of our players. We're an online poker company, of course we want you to be able to play online

I'm sorry you had a bad internet experience during IOM but I hope you know that is never our intention.

Cheers,

Neil

Thank you. Having the option to 'cash out' the hotel part of a package makes full-package satellites playable for alot of us that otherwise can't justify effectively paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay in a hotel (if we win a package). Additionally, for those on either side of a backing relationship- thank you for getting rid of a major source of headaches.

+1! Will prob play few satellites to Eureka now, maybe take a shot or two to EPT package too. Nice to be able to choose my own hotel and staying days and not have to move around.

Does the opt-out also apply to Finnish Championship packages?

Yea Neil i get every point of what you said and, yes, i agree with the most of em. I understand internet issue are different for us poker players, and of course when there's just one qualifiers hotel that get even worse.

What about adding a EPT Travel service for sundays/whatever day for conference rooms with stable internet or something? I bet that would be really appreciated.

Hi Rocco,

That is a very interesting idea! I'll toss it over to the EPT Concierge guys, but feel free to tweet it at them also. @EPTTravel.

The levels 1-4 are 14 minutes each, levels 5-8 are 24 minutes each, etc

Hi charder30,

4x14min and etc... means, that we will play 4 levels of 14min, then 4 levels of 24min and so on.

We try to offer "new" formats to our customers, as only NLH are not very interesting, so this 4x4 is just another funny tournament format.
