Hi guys, longtime lurker and first time poster here. I just dealt with one of the most annoying things I have had to go through in a while and I wanted to know what you all think, it will make me feel better just venting about it. Basically I planned a weeklong trip out here to Biloxi to gamble but for the main purpose of playing in the 100k guarantee main event in the Card Player Series at the Scarlet Pearl Casino. I chose to play the last flight that started at 6:00- I arrive at 6:15 sharp and am told no more registration because there is not enough room for returning players on day two. I guess it is my fault for not signing up earlier and waiting for the final flight- this was just not an issue I anticipated. Am I naïve and is this common practice in these main events to not be able to register late? I didn't expect to get anything from the casino but I wanted to at least express my disappointment in the management of the tournament but wasn't even able to do that. There is no guest services area and I was directed to a hotel receptionist and from there to another person who didn't know what was going on who finally went back to the poker room manager who told her that all the current tables were full (not that there would be no room for returning players on day 2) . I was hoping for maybe a sympathetic manager who could comp me a hotel room for an event in the future but didn't really expect that- at the very least a guest services booth where I could express my disapproval, but there was nothing of the sort and I am left with the biggest SOL feeling ever. I Will begin my 7 hour drive back to Jacksonville tomorrow with the emptiest wasted feelings of relection on a vacation ever. Do you all think I am just whining and obviously should have showed up early or do you agree that shoddy management and bad customer service is synonymous with my treatment at the Scarlet Pearl?

I feel your pain man i also played this event. Played the 6pm flight friday and the 10am sat. Busted the second flight around 6 and went to rest before for an hour before jumping into last flight. All advertisements stated late reg open until level 9. Show up to half empty room and told the same crap about not having enough seats for day 2. Im like wtf so i also planned only to be screwed. The scarlet pearl dealers and the tournament director were total amateur hour. I didnt give the hotel any of my action and after this i never will.

I was there. I played Saturday at 10am. The real problem was they did not have enough dealers. On Saturday they had a bunch of call ins. Then as you guys mentioned yes, not enough space for day 2 players. The turbo tournament that was supposed to go on Sunday got capped at 1 table/10 entries! Even on my day 1 flight we had 63 alternates. This was an inaugural event for this casino and they extremely under estimated the turnout and were not prepared. I do believe Matt johnson the TD had good intentions and really tried to make it work. Not sure about Karen (room mgr), I did not see her too much. Aside from that though, I'm not surprised of the issues because this casinos management is horrible. Been open for 1.5 years now and every time I go there is some kind of problem. I could go on and on about that, but that would be a whole other long thread about the incompetencies of that place (again, not necessarily just the poker)
