Hi, I have a few questions ...

What is a good strategy in live small stakes live tournament poker? 30 min blind levels ..15k starting. Essentially my problem is I seem to get into a push fold mode alot when blinds seem to smash through. What are other people's thoughts on how to play these?

Thanks.

Avoid them if you can. Otherwise recognize that luck will play a bigger role and really bone up on push/fold strategies. In all likelihood, your opponents will not be playing optimally, so that's one area where you can have an advantage.

Also, if you build a decent stack and find other players are starting to push quite often, do not call lightly with hands like weak A of suited face cards. You may have decent equity, but its not worth the risk to take you from a comfortable chip position to short just to knock someone out unless there's some good pay jump or something.

You may be playing too tight and not collecting enough uncontested pots before you get into push/fold mode.

In a lot of smaller tournaments, there will be players who don't go into push/fold mode soon enough. Don't be one of those players.

Good strategy is to study the game, play a ton, work hard and put in the effort and time. Nobody here is going to give you magical formula that will turn you into a crusher on low live MTTs.
