Hi Sect7G,

No BS here, I think you are right. However, this has been a bit of a trial an error due to the mix between the PCA satellites and the fact that PCA requires VISA if you come through US, which makes those satellites less attractive for a lot of Latam players. I think that due to the combination of those two, we saw a descending trend on interest which led us to be very conservative. We are reviewing this for December to try to come up with ways to improve it. I think that a final push with a significant guarantee could push well in a couple of weeks. But I think you are right and I have taken notes for next year. this is the first of this idea and there are still some variables to measure and see how they work.

If the turn out is good, I think that we have a lot of room to try many aggressive routes for next year.

2 weeks and counting = a few days??

Why do you all always do this? Look through this and other lapt threads...You have made numerous similar statements about a variety of things and almost never deliver on time. It just looks terrible and gets annoying at some point. I mean... just don't say you will have it by a certain time if you are not sure it can be released then.

Also please don't leave any asterisk dates on the schedule and mention that there will be an event added at a later date. Just to let everyone wonder hmmm wow will it be an amazing location like costa rica again?/ Domincan, Aruba? When there ends up never being an event added...and in reality the released schedule just goes on to have even more events taken off the calendar.

Would love it if two events were reasonable close together in dates. With the lowered buy-ins its really hard to justify the expense of going to Lat Am from other regions of the world for just a single series. It would be great if at some point in the schedule there were two events at least kinda-close together timewise so we could hit two events in one trip. Just a thought

Hi,

Ok, no excuses here! We are going to do better going forward. Let me give you a full update.

Season 8 of LAPT is confirmed and locked of all but one venue. That one is holding the launch, because we want to launch with all dates and details. Some of our agreements have non disclosure agreements and confidentiality clauses which prevent from certain announcements until all is complete. In the past, we have been unlucky with Mexico, where we expected an event last year (our announced TBC) and we cancelled Uruguay due to other unfortunate reasons.

We are really close to be ready and we are aiming to announce by December 22nd, so we can finalize the web site, and the press release.

I promise you that we are going to be steady going forward and appreciate your patience and effort to post. Season 8 is going to introduce great changes and we are all looking forward to it.

Hi,

Season 8 is going to see an increase on Buy In to us $ 2.500 and Us $ 3.000. However, I see what you mean. There are challenges with that, because there aren't any other series in Latam, such s Wpt events or alike to do what is done in Europe. There are some scattered events here and there that could be worth getting close to, but is not really something we have considered this far.

Cheers
David

I think this should def. be doable for the Brazil stop (assuming there is one). If they had a BSOP event leading up to the LAPT stop I'd def. see the value in going. And if they could arrange for some sort of regional series in other Countries such as Chile or Mexico (down the road) then it could work elsewhere as well.

As for the poster that was unsatisfied with the LAPT reps... I think you're perhaps a little off base when you consider the complexity of dealing with the hotels/governments of these Countries. There's a good reason why not many companies bring their Live events to S.A compared to Europe despite S.A being very much a potentially growing market whereas Europe is somewhat saturated. It's not an easy region to do business in.

Agree with miamicane, although glad to see the ME bis are going up. I cant be bothered to come to really any events with the cost of travel, and Im someone who would fire multiple bullets in the Highroller if need be.

Looks like Ill have to pick up my 5mil VPP watch somewhere next year, are all PS sponsored live events an okay place to do this, or only certain ones (sorry for asking a question that has nothing to do with your job, but hoping you know!)? Would def prefer a lapt stop over going to europe due to where I live and cost of travel

Hello again,
I wanted to drop a line letting you all know that the official Lapt Season 8 announcement will be done in January 19th. There are many reasons for this. Meanwhile, we will launch Lapt Chile satellite and I will post the details here next week.

I hope you all have very merry Christmas and spend time with your loved ones!

I saw LAPT Chile Sats in the lobby last week. Gone now. No worries but planning on playing some so hopefully they come back soon.

I went to the Enjoy Casino in Viña del Mar (where the LAPT-CHILE will be held) last weekend and there were some huge banners saying:

LAPT CHILE MAIN EVENT:
MARCH 6TH - MARCH 10TH, 2015
BI: USD$2500

This Season 8 stop has also been publically advertised:

LAPT URUGUAY
September 18-22, 2015

Is LAPT Bahamas that just recently concluded a part of Season 7 or Season 8? I understood that it was initially thrown on to the schedule as a substitute for the cancelled LAPT Punta del Este from Season 7, but is now being mentioned on www.lapt.com as being part of Season 8.

Hello,

LAPT Bahamas is the kick off event of season 8. Unfortunately, we didn't make it in time to announce the entire season before. No confidentiality agreements are now at breach with any venue, which is why Uruguay is also public, through Conrad. We are only 6 days away from the full announcement.

Cheers

LAPT Conrad is very good news. Def a better venue than Mantra. It is much closer to Punta downtown than Mantra so there will be much more options for players for food and night life during off season. Also, Conrad usually offers good cash games even though it has a 5% uncapped which should definitely be revised during LAPT.

Now tell us you have a nice resort (Dominican Republic?) included in Season 8 and season will be perfect

LAPT SEASON 8 appeared this morning on the LAPT website:

Viña del Mar, Chile: March 6-10
Panama City, Panama: May 8-12
Lima, Peru: July 10-14
Punta del Este, Uruguay: September 18-22
Grand Final w/ BSOP Millions, São Paulo, Brazil: November 24 - December 2
01-19-2015 , 12:34 PM
really wish LAPT Peru was one week later so it wouldn't conflict with WSOP main
01-19-2015 , 12:44 PM
Panama at the Veneto again. Sigh. How long are you tied to them for? Place is a dump. so many better options now.
01-19-2015 , 04:31 PM
Veneto is the nut worst place to stay
01-19-2015 , 05:19 PM
thank you - nice change of pace with brazil for the finals!
01-19-2015 , 07:48 PM
WTF with LAPT Peru conflicting with WSOP ME? That is the LAPT I've always wanted to make an effort to get to and now it will have to wait at least another year. Horrid scheduling.
