Excuse me while I channel my inner Chainsaw, but I have a couple of suggestions for the tournament director:
- Please stick to 9-handed tables for the MTT's. I was pretty surprised to see recently that the $350 $250k guarantee and $570 $300k guarantee tournaments were 10-handed despite there being 8 (!) and 6 flights, respectively, for each. What's the reasoning between the $1200 $400k guarantee being 9-handed but the $570 being 10-?
- I love the offer of an 11am and a 7pm flight for each starting day of a large field MTT but when there is only one start flight per day--for instance this weekend's $1200 main--I think it would be wiser to start it at 12pm rather than 11am.
For one, many recreational players have to work on Thursdays and Fridays so they're already less likely to play on those days but some may opt to late-reg after work or even put in a half-day of work before entering the tournament, so a 12pm start time would give those players an extra hour and thus a bit more of an incentive to play during those weekdays.
In addition, many of the players who can play on weekdays (i.e. pros) are likely to late-reg this type of tournament to begin with, even more so if it is scheduled to begin "in the morning." These players are also the most likely to re-enter multiple times so giving them an extra hour to do so would help boost the prize pool.
The extra hour would also make it easier on players who have to commute to the Isle from farther away. As a resident of Miami, I need to wake up at 9am in order to rush to make an 11am start time at the Isle. I'm sure there are a lot of people traveling to the Isle from much farther away who would appreciate not having to wake up earlier than that on their Saturday in order play a poker tournament. Recreational players aren't as comfortable late-regging as pros are and like to "get their money's worth."
I could see starting a tournament at 11am if it was scheduled to end very late in the night but today's $1200 was bagged up by 11pm so it's not as if a 1-hour shift would induce a drastic difference. When one of those Saturday night 7pm flights wraps up, it's usually around 2-2:30am and players have to be back the next day at 12pm for Day 2 so surely concluding a Day 1 at 12am and allowing for 12 hours of rest before restarting isn't unreasonable.
it looks like they just finalized the schedule its on Bravo Poker app. It starts Oct 5th, the big weekends look like a 570 (300K), a 350 (300K) and a 1500 main event (500K)
