HPT Daytona II (Feb 3-13, 2012)

www.daytonagreyhound.com, looks like this one is going to be bigger than the last one, who's going?

Re: HPT Daytona II (Feb 3-13, 2012)

I'm debating on playing this or the WPT event at the Hard Rock in Hollywood the same weekend. Daytona is closer and the buyin is cheaper, but the structure is infinitely worse, even with the improvements. It would be cool though to final table this one and make it 2/2 in Daytona...

I might consider it eventually, but right now I've done pretty well with managing my bankroll. I'm feeling pretty confident with my game, so the spoils will have to remain mine for now

Coming to Daytona Beach Thursday, should be interesting how the new HPT structure works out.

What improvements were made to the structure?

They actually removed the first level. The improvements come in the form of longer levels at the later stages of play (50 and 60 minute levels after level 7 I think). They also reworked the payout scale to make it slightly less top heavy.

I will actually be playing the WPT event at the hard rock instead of this one this weekend. Have fun!

But they kept the massive level jumps? Iirc the structure doubled the blind level for like 4 or 5 levels in a row. Maybe I'm thinking of another structure but I remember looking at the old one and laughing how bad it was for a $1500+ event.

Level jumps are still there. They might have added one or two, but its still a crap shoot. I remember when we finally got to the final table of 10 and the average chip stack was 11BBs...expect the same this time.

Is this the two or three day structure. Such poor scheduling . A day or two earlier or later and get a slew of wpt players

Link to new HPT structure.

It's the three day structure you repeatedly said was needed AK.

The WPT event was added AFTER the HPT event was announced.

October's event had 375ish entrants with a $165k first place.
