Starting thread for this glorious event. Discuss.

Event 1A 500k guarantee starts today at 11am and is a 3 day event. Last year this even had over 3000 entries.

According to site, Harrah's Cherokee had over 26,000 total entries into tournaments and sitngos in April 2016 stop.

Will be interesting if the holiday has any impact on turnout. April ciruit has never fallen over Easter weekend. Looks like more hotel rooms available than usual but guarantees will still be smashed.

Still trying to clear up the schedule discrepancies. On WSOP circuit schedule, event #3 starts at 11am but on Cherokee schedule it starts at 3pm. Also, event #6 is listed as 1-day event on Cherokee schedule but 2-day event on the WSOP Circuit schedule. Anyone know for sure which one to trust?

My guess is that the Cherokee flyer is correct, with the Senior event normally drawing around 1000 runners @ 9am, a 1pm Mega, and the re-start of Event #1 probably @ noon, 3pm makes the most sense for event # 3. I will not be there until Friday, so I will not know until then.

I felt the same way about #3 being at 3pm but Kevmath said 11am, not sure where it was confirmed. I still think 3pm makes sense given the number of senior entries at this stop. Will be there in a few hours.

Thanks, I've actually already called the poker room twice and both times the person I spoke with really didn't seem to know. I guess I'll just adjust my schedule and be there at 11 just in case. It's not like I won't have anything to do for 4 hours if it really does start at 3. My biggest concern is that the confusion may adversely affect turnout if a lot of people show up 4 hours after the tourney has started.

For me, day 2 of the biggest tourney of the series falling on Easter Sunday definitely kept me from attending. I'm sure there are plenty of poker players that this won't matter to, but I have a family and wife and there is no way in hell I could get away with taking a gambling trip over Easter weekend without starting WWIII. A damn shame, I usually play Harrah's Cherokee every WSOP stop.

Day 2 is Saturday, at least I hope since I was told we play at noon. No Day 1 ring events are scheduled for Sunday.

It is a shame this series is over Easter but with the way this event falls on the calendar it was bound to happen.

How are the cash games going this week?

I usually play 1-2, 1-3, for those of you who play 4-8 how much do you sit down with?

I was up 5 days but in a tournament most of that time. Only got to play about 10 hours of 2/5 and it was pretty soft. I did not see any LHE games and the max buy in for 1/2 is $200, hope that helps.

Finally broke the Cherokee curse and cashed in the Monster Stack!!!!!!!

Last hand. 30 minutes from day 2, bb 12,000 sb 6,000 1000 ante. Player on my right raises to 25k, I look at AQ diamonds and shove 100k. He tanks for a few claiming he has trash, finally calls and shows K/10 off. Flops a 10 and I'm done.

Hopefully bigger cashes to come but I'm glad to get the monkey off my back.
