Gold Rush at Lucky Chances, San Francisco

Anyone playing/played? I know living in the Bay Area we don't have thy many large guarentee tournaments. Interested to see if any 2+2ers are playing, maybe talk about some hands at breaks or whatever.

I'll be there grinding cash at night - I'll be the youngest-looking caucasian at my table (probabilistically speaking, of course). I'd like to meet some 2+2'ers who play there, look for me in a plain gray sweatshirt.

From what I'm told, it's not much of a "guarantee". First place prize money is guaranteed, but they just take it from the prize pool. If turnout sucks, all the lower places get screwed - they don't add anything to the prize pool.

This is correct, but still besides going to reno/san jose, gold rush week has the biggest prize pools for the bay area all year. So its def worth playing imo.

Played the tag team NLH event on Saturday. It's a nice change of pace I'd like to see at more tournaments. Player 1 goes in 30 min level, player 2 plays next 30 min level and so on. When you've got a crew buddy it's fun.

Busting with AA vs 44 all in preflop? Not fun.

I think one of the Bay 101 Open events are like that too.
