AFAIK "poker" and "guaranteed profit" are two pretty unrelated things.
I just got back yesterday. I won't go into a ton of detail, but I played:
6/22 10pm deepstack
6/23 noon $1500 event
6/24 2pm deepstack
6/25 noon wynn
6/25 2pm deepstack
The bad news is that the only cash came in the 10pm deepstack the first night I was there. The good news is that I went deep in every single event that I played in and made it to at least the dinner break. I thought I played extremely well but just couldn't catch the breaks I needed late in the game.
I was very card dead in the $1500 except for a hand early on when I flopped quad tens and won a good sized pot. What I found in this event is that when the dead money busts out the game gets quite a bit tougher. I was at 10k by the first break from picking on the weak/tight/scared players. Then they all busted and a bunch of really good, aggro players sat down including one guy two on my left who said he wasn't a pro but I'm almost certain is. I busted when I called a raise OTB with A
with 30 BB's. I flopped a nut flush draw with a broadway draw against one of the aggro players and he had top set. I missed. I absolutely can't see playing that hand any other way. I needed a break to double up to stay competitive with the other laggy players at my table who were all sitting on 50 or 60 BB's.
