San remo is the same dates as PPT in cannes. I pronostic an huge fail there.

Prague is combined with WPT Prague into a big festival, much like this year, that's nice.
feels like they just removed the smallest stops ?

Having longer intervals between festivals makes it much less worthwhile for people (like myself) to travel from afar... Perhaps there will be other stuff in between (WPT's, others) that will make it more justifiable.

And yeh haven't looked but if there's a clash with PPT thats a huge huge fail...

That said, the choices of destinations themselves looks good to me...

With the curtains drawn back there will be a new look to the tour next season, with a vast aray of improvements designed to make the players experience even better.
There will be eight stops in Season 9, as you can read about in an earlier post, with a few extras to satisfy the needs of high and low rollers.

For instance there will be no more surreptitious demands for the wireless code from players with an insider in the press room. From now on there will be wireless for everyone in the tournament area, as well as soft drinks, to spare the unbecoming scenes of players, some of which can boast millions in their tournament records, stealing bottles of water from staff rooms, each with a street value of about €15.

Another addition to Season 9 will be the EPT Concierge. Need tickets to a West End show during EPT London? Try the EPT Concierge. Need a new swimming costume for the water slides at the PCA? Try the EPT Concierge. Need a restaurant reservation in Prague or Deauville? Try EPT Concierge. Need tickets to Barcelona v Real Madrid? No chance. I suppose you could try EPT Concierge.

And before you start thinking "well that's alright for the high rollers," the Concierge service will be open to everyone, regardless of social rank. If you're a player, PokerStars and the European Poker Tour are there to make your life easier. This really will be the new standard for international poker everywhere.
concierge is a pretty cool idea. glad that wifi/drinks gonna be provided as they should be imo

a bit sad to see some of the smaller stops gone, they were pretty fun, but this is gonna make every tourney huge

Grand final 6-15 may gonna mean end of SCOOP clashes with the start of WSOP next year?

Some of the smaller events needed to go but the turnouts in Madrid and Campione were pretty good. Not a fan of this overall concept. Would like to play as many main events with 500+ people as possible. They should run 2 events per season at some of the most popular stops.

That time period last year was Grand Prix in Paris and the run-up to Borgata Open ME.

Hi All,

Cross-posting from Main EPT Thread (I'll answer posts after this)...

Hi All,

Schedule -

As noted in the below thread, the EPT9 Season schedule has been announced!!!

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/65...013-a-1197831/

http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/ept/20...-9-093435.html

European Poker Tour Season 9 schedule

EPT Barcelona: Aug 15-25 (Main event Aug 19-25) €5,000 + 300

EPT San Remo: Oct 3-11 (Main event Oct 5-11) €5,000 + 300

EPT Prague: Dec 5-15 (Main event Dec 9- 15) €5,000 + 300

2013 PCA: Jan 6-15, 2013, $10,000 + 300

EPT Deauville: Jan 30-Feb 9, 2013(Main event Feb 3-9) €5,000 + 300

EPT London: Mar 6-16, 2013 (Main event Mar 10-16) £5,000 + 250

EPT Berlin: Apr 24-May 4, 2013 (Main event Apr 28-May 4)€5,000 + 300

EPT Monte Carlo: May 6-15, 2013 (Main event May 6-12) €10,000 + 600

***Note: The above is a provisional schedule. GPTL reserves the right to add to or amend the Season 9 EPT schedule at its sole discretion.

The length of the events is a bit deceptive. For EPT8, we had some events that were 5 day events played over 6 days like Prague, Berlin and Barcelona (Day 1a, 1b, 2-5 for 6 days) and some that were 6 days over 7 like San Remo, London and Deauville (1a, 1b, 2-6). For EPT9, all EPT's will have the 6 over 7 format.

Also, every EPT9 stop will have a National Tour (or, in the case of Germany, a Regional lower buy in event) preceding it. That is the deceptive bit. Using EPT9 Barcelona as an example, Estrellas Barcelona will run from August 15th - 19th and EPT Barcelona will run from August 19th - 25th.

That is why I said it both was and wasn't what you were thinking Some of the stops got an extra day for EPT, but all of the stops got a few extra days for the National Tour.

-----------------------------

Tournaments -

There are some great new events coming in EPT9!

10,000 buyin EPT Championship Events!

EPT9 Barcelona - €10,000 EPT Heads Up Championships
EPT9 Deauville - €10,000 EPT Pot Limit Omaha Championships
EPT9 London - £10,000 EPT 8 Game Championships

The great news about these three events is we will allow online qualifying (seat only) to these 10K Championship Events!

We also will open the season with a €50,000 Super High Roller (name pending...what is between HR and SHR?) in Barcelona filmed for TV! So the season will begin with 50K in Barcelona and end with 100K in Monaco. We will still have the 10K High Roller in Barcelona and at every EPT, as well as the 25K in MC (plus 100K and 25K in Bahamas).

The EPT8 3K Heads Up will be dropped to a 1K buyin with a 64 cap in an effort to build up this format. If we struggle on EPT9, it will probably be dropped for EPT 10 except for the big buyin ones at PCA and MC.

As mentioned earlier, we will be reviewing all the structures, payouts, rules, etc... over the summer.

EPT Concierge -

Cutting this out of the EPT Monaco magazine...

EPT9 Concierge!

It’s a European Poker Tour event. You’re in Barcelona. Or Berlin. Or London. Or any other fabulous destination the tour has to offer. You’re there to play poker, of course, but how incredibly silly would it be to miss out on experiencing a fabulous city after you have traveled so far? It’s a common problem with an easy solution. Players travel from far and wide to cities they don’t know. They want to have fun, but it’s hard to know the best things to do without any knowledge of the city. What’s more, even after they figure out what to do, time constraints and language barriers can make having fun a lot more difficult. The people behind the EPT have decided to change that with a valuable new service for players. The new EPT Hotels Concierge service will change the way you travel to tour stops all over Europe. What was once reserved for high rollers with casino hosts is now available to everyone on the EPT. If you’ve never used a concierge before, here are just a few of the things the new service can help you do...

Get a table

You’ve had your fill of McDonald’s and snack bar food. You want to go out for a nice meal, but you don’t know the best place to go or how to get a reservation. The EPT Hotels Concierge service can make recommendations and see about getting you a reservation for your party. What’s more, if you’re looking for more fun after your meal, the service can recommend clubs and help you secure a VIP booth or table service.

Get tickets

EPT players travel to some of the best sports cities in the world. Tickets to the events can be hard to come by, but if they are available, the EPT Hotels Concierge can help you track them down. And, in case your favorite band is in town when you are, the service can also help you get concert tickets.

Get wet

If you’ve been to enough EPT events, you know that there are a few opportunities to hit the beach. Why not go a little farther out? The EPT Hotels Concierge service can help you get a boat for the afternoon. If you’re interested in any other kind of water sports, the service can help you with that, too.

Get whatever you need

Maybe you forgot to pack your socks. Maybe you’ve decided to have a fancy meal but don’t have a dinner jacket. Maybe you just want to splurge and buy something expensive. The EPT Hotels Concierge service can help you with all of that. Whether you want someone to go out and shop for you, or you want someone to take you shopping, the service can make sure you get whatever you need.

Get a ride

Need to go somewhere? Anybody can hail a taxi. Perhaps you would like to ride in style. The EPT Hotels Concierge can find you a luxury car service to take you wherever you want to go. If you want a little more room or have friends joining you on the journey, it’s no problem to get a limousine.

Get in a round

If you want to take your game off the felt and to the links, check in with the EPT Hotels Concierge to see about the best golf courses in the city you visit. If you have an afternoon to kill, you might as well get in 18 holes on the best course you can find.

Get relaxed

Poker can be a stressful experience. If you play too much of it, you might find yourself wanting more than a tableside massage. If so, just get the service to book you a massage, spa appointment, or beauty treatment. You’ll be relaxed before you know it.

Get cultured

The EPT knows its players appreciate a bit of fine art, and main event stops offer tons of opportunities to see some of the best museums, galleries, and theatre shows in the world. Whether you need a recommendation or tickets, the service can help.

If you want something, the EPT Hotels Concierge service will do its best to see that you get it. The EPT Hotels Concierge service will be available to players online in advance of events at www.epthotels.com. The service will also have a booth and staff available at events to help out people when they have a day off from the poker room.

Hi All,

As noted in my cross post, every EPT now has a National Event in front of it. So SR will not conflict with the WSOPE although some of our prelims will hit some of their postlims. The WSOPE Main Event FT is the 4th, EPT San Remo ME Day 1A is the 5th.

David - 6 - I have no info on SCOOP for 2013. However, there is a large gap between London and Berlin (Mar 16 - Apr 24) that could conceivably be used for it? That isn't a tease either, I seriously don't know.

JD - 7 - WCOOP "should" be there. Again, I don't know, but that is when it has been for years now.

Todd - 10 - It isn't 100% that this is it (about 95% though). There are chances to add others, but this is the locked in schedule and will most likely be the entire EPT9 Schedule. If Holland or Sweden would like to let us come, I will be happy to make room for EPT Stockholm or EPT Amsterdam in the schedule though

Web - 11 - Not 100% confirmed, but that is also 95%. The casino has it and is reviewing it. I am happy to take feedback on it though. I'll add it to the bottom of this post.

the partoche website literally lists the tour championship as "august 2012 8500 euro"

so i assume there is no date for flexibility reasons but they are sticking to the month

Thanks for posting the schedule in advance. Personally I don't like this direction -- fewer but longer events, and combining them with the local tours. I'd rather have two chances to go to a destination that I like and/or is close by. Also, it's hard for many non full-time pros to take off more than one week for a festival, which means that they'd have to miss the usually very fun local tours. This, as well as the fact that a lot of local casual players won't be able to play two weeks straight for various reasons, might hurt the overall numbers.

For me personally longer and fewer events suits me perfectly, but I do fear that the combination with smaller buy-in local tours might decrease the value in the bigger events, and thus make the fields smaller and less worth playing. Hope I´m wrong though.

There's no way this is going to do anything but boost numbers in the events that remain. It seems a pretty smart idea for when poker players are in town run as many tourneys as possible! I don't see how anyone could see this as a negative move unless your favourite stop has been axed.

Hope Stars runs some kind of standalone tournament in Greece sometime this year, like the one they do in Belgium, as I missed Loutraki last year.

this is awesome in every way, amazed it took 8 seasons to fig it out though

most importantly it saves travelling costs/time and it will definately increase the main events. fish who would normally only go to the 1/2k IPT etc will be more tempted to take a shot at the 5k main as well. and no tournament last for 10 days so its pretty stupid to say that recreational players cant take 10 days off work etc since it wont make a difference but its more likely they will go to one big festival rathen than two smaller one on different sides of Europe.
