Dear xxxx,

You may have just received the e-mail below regarding buying into live events sponsored by PokerStars through your PokerStars account.

Please note that this e-mail was sent to you in error.

To clarify our position, players on .BE/.BG/.DK/.EE & .UK licensed operations are no longer able to buy into live events sponsored by PokerStars using funds from their PokerStars account.

Players on PokerStars.com and .eu ARE still able to buy-in through their PokerStars account.

We apologise for any confusion this may have caused you.

Regards,
PokerStars Live Events Team

I understand that at the PCA you run the pokerstars bank? (sorry if ive got this wrong, just what i've heard) Where you can receive cash and stars takes the money from your account. Any reason this cant be done at EPT stops?

Few questions:

1. To clarify our position, players on .BE/.BG/.DK/.EE & .UK licensed operations are no longer able to buy into live events sponsored by PokerStars using funds from their PokerStars account.

WHY?

2. If these players cash in Eureka/EPT Main, can they transfer they winnings to Pokerstars or not?

As we said in the email notifying players of this change, we are not going to facilitate players using funds in their PokerStars .EE/.BE/.DK/.BG/.UK accounts to directly buy in to live events because we are not permitted to do so.

We have been advised by our legal and compliance team we are no longer able to offer this service in the regulated markets. We understand this is not ideal, and we are working on putting a system in place to make it easier for players to buy in to live events but this is not yet available, we will announce once this is ready to use. For the meantime we must proceed in this way.

Best Regards,

Julio

Hi all,

Ereb - 131 - We love Vienna! Wonderful place and fantastic event! But not looking good for EPT11 unfortunately

Poker - 132 - We should be able to run an EPT during that time, yes

Rupert - Pablito - 133 thru 137 - I've forwarded the feedback along to our Sat team.

Jack - 139 - Interesting idea and something we'll look into for Malta. Traditionally the fields are smaller at the end but we are always looking for ways to grow them. I'm glad you enjoyed London! Deauville schedule is done, just needs final sign off within EPT and Barriere. Should be out in the next week to two weeks at the latest.

M1L - 144 - Agreed, it is something we will look at.

Naheed - 145 - I don't have the info in front of me on stakes and games from last year. I can confirm EPT Prague cash games will be 40+ tables in a different area this year. For anyone who has attended Prague before, if you know where the bar/restaurant above the breakfast buffet is, there are substantial conference spaces around that bar on the first floor. The cash games are to the right of that bar and will be 24/7 throughout the Festival. That should ease lines and wait times and we will spread anything requested as (basically) all games are legal in Prague.

Hot - 146 - I agree.

David - 147 - The policy is being discussed now that we have a couple of events with the policy in place to review. There have been both positives and negatives. It will definitely remain in place for Prague and PCA as we continue to review.

Jmo - 149 - It only impacts the 5 regulated markets. COM/EU players will still be allowed to DBI as usual. It also impacts the PS Bank at the PCA for the regulated markets but not for .COM/EU players.

Marge - 152 - Regulatory reasons in the EPT markets.

Hot - 153 - To your first question, PS is constantly working with its Compliance team and with regulators around the globe. We are the most regulated online poker company in the world having licenses in more regions than anyone else. At this time it is the opinion of our Compliance team, in partnership with our regulators, that we stop allowing DBI from regulated markets. We hope that we can address this situation in the coming months and will be working towards a solution so we can provide this service again in the future.

To your second point, I will let you know if it changes, but my current information is no you cannot.

Cheers,

Neil

Hello XXX,

We are writing to you because you have previously used funds from your PokerStars account to directly buy-in to live events sponsored by PokerStars. We are sending a similar message to all players with PokerStars accounts operating under our .BE/.BG/.DK/.EE & .UK licensed operations.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer this service going forward. While we would like to be able to allow you to directly buy-in to live events using money in your PokerStars account, we are simply not permitted to offer such services going forward.

Please be aware that this will only affect you when you are trying to directly buy-in to live events using funds from your PokerStars account. This has no impact on players who win satellite entries to live events or players who buy-in using funds that are from outside of their PokerStars accounts.

Consequently, please be aware that you are going to need to use alternative mechanisms to buy-in to live events.

We regret that we are not going to be able to offer this service. Please feel free to contact our Registrations Team at registrations@pslive.com if you have any queries.

Regards,
PokerStars Live Events Team
1) Will the changes be implemented before EPT Prague or after that?

2) Where in the country requirements is said something like that and what is the exact reason for making things change?

3) Since .BG is open for quite a few months already, why we did register using PS funds in that time (including EPT Barcelona, EPT London and ACOP) with no problems ? (It sounds like .UK is the reason and your bosses think 'lets ban other licenses too, so .UK are less screwed')

Could you introduce sats 1100eu for 1100 (also 2ks, 5ks, 10ks) - basically we can register that and after 1 hand is played we qualify?

Can we register using skrill/neteller?

P.S. This really is bad thing for us and if I don't win a package for EPT Prague, I won't be coming at all. I believe a lot of players feel that way.

this sounds like a very good idea, i would imagine that there would be a problem in the system tho meaning that you could not unregister.

They could be heads up sng sats that start right up until late reg ends and people just find someone else in the queue to reg it on their mobile with. I doubt stars would go down this route though but they've surprised me a lot with their choices recently. Can't see why .UK could register for acop events but not Prague events. If it is to do with Hong Kong dollars being harder for players to get then this truely is nothing to do with regulations but to do with not taking cash out of the site without hurting numbers as much as possible. Is there a tax hit when we register for live events online?

When i was talking about registration, i meant lets say you sat into the 2k thats always on when day 2 of the main is on, and you also sat into the main and youve made day 2. Its against stars policy to let people unregister from live events if they've satellited in. The only sort of solution i could think of for this would be to make it so that they only way to unregister from a live event would be from the desk of the event itself. I highly doubt this would cause almost anyone to unregister, and they'd probably only do so under the circumstances i just mentioned.

Just re-read your post, doesnt seem like the worst idea.

Hi all,

Deauville Schedule announced this morning! - http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/tourna...d-152339.shtml

Official thread is here - http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/65...014-a-1491524/

Marge - 156 - Thanks for the feedback. It is something we have been looking at and there is on-going discussion about ways we can try and help since this decision came down.

Ereb - 157 -

1. Before Prague
2/3. There is no rule in the T&C that discusses the ability to DBI, whether you can, or you cannot. My answer for the change was posted in #155.
4. I understand what you are trying to say, but no, that wouldn't be possible.
5. No.
P.S. I know and I agree. We aren't happy about this either as we like providing this service. It is really great for our players and for the events and we will continue to work towards being able to offer it again in the future.

Cheers,

Neil
