Just got home. Great tournament and well run. The room was packed and the cash games were great. We even got the PLO running, although I was stuck in the tournament and couldn't play it.

Good job, and congrats Marvin.

Now, get a better chip set for the tournaments

Marvin,
I just want to say "great job" on this tournament--thanks for spreading it, organizing it, and keeping such a great attitude throughout. You even let us rib you for your bad math (avg stack =10,500ish after first break with starting stacks of 15k!)...

My only input/request would be to add that 150/300/25 level that was advertised on the screens (but not in the posted structure). That to me was the most abrupt blind transition in the tournament. Had a nice 1 1/2 - 2 hrs of deep stack play and then all of the sudden it felt very short with that 200/400/50 after the break.

Again, great work, and thanks for being so open to suggestions from the forum.

P.S A special shout out to the one person who didn't do the $10 add on after putting in the $165 entry!

How about a special shout out to the guy who started this thread?

Sorry that I couldn't make it, but 1-secret-1 and I were are busy getting our heads caved in out in Vegas!

Who won this thing? or was there a chop?

I was out around 70th or so... all in preflop, AK vs JJ, JJ held up to send me out- played cash for a few hours, looked like they were down to about 4 tables when I left-

Really fun tourney. Well done Marvin.

No deal was made. I had 5% of the guy that won. He won huge flip 1010 to AK for about 70% of chips. Then 3 handed he told the other two that he would take 1st place money and guys chopped up 2nd and 3rd place money.

It started a little late because they were ready for it to be so large. But lasted about 10-11 hours with breaks

Marvin,

Great job on great weekly tournament. As we talked about, great job listening to and accepting input from the players, it will pay off with players in seats because you're running a player friendly room. This is a great tournament, lots of play for your money. Keep up the good work Marvin!

It is great that they are giving you all a good structured weekly but remember they are doing it to help increase the poker rooms cash games so don't just play the tourney then head west for your cash game keep playing here and support this room.

agree with you tex but 45 minutes for cash games that 20x better is hard to pass up but i would like this room to grow

Cash games at choctaw are way softer than winstar btw. Winstar just has more tables but way more grinders. The regulars at Choctaw aren't good

you are on the softer part but the 2/5 at winstar is too soft to pass up make 4 bis on an average night in that game but i hope choctaw gets around to that point also its about 30 min closer

I agree with a lot of what is being said here, but the Choctaw vs Winstar thread is here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27/brick-mortar/choctaw-vs-winstar-1024006/

The action & softness were great following the tournament, the 1/2/5 was so juicy (though the tables kept breaking for PLO, etc.)

Who all is planning on coming out next Sat? If the turnout is going to be close to what it was this last Saturday, I would really like to play it again.

I'll be up from Austin.

Any update on if there was anything other than NLHE or PLO running? Any mixed games?

Not a lot of mixed games, there are a bunch of 'interest lists' but the PLO games didn't even get going until later in the evening.

They had a hard time putting on mixed games during the WSOPC series, but I also know they are using these tourneys to try and kick start the cash games, so they might get something going if people keep asking for it.

Ty for response... do not really want to go up just for the tourney :/ Was kinda hoping they'd at least get a mix going as there had been some discussion of it itt... Guess I might head that way this weekend and keep my fingers crossed for the best

Thinking of doing precisely the same... Never played the Mega, but heard good things about it from one of my buddies up there.
