I am looking forward to your input on helping this tournament grow, as of right now we will run the first Tournament with the updated blind levels and if at all possible i will add the suggested levels to the next Tournament. With support and suggestions of twoplustwo members, I would like to grow this Tournament into the largest weekly Tournament in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Thanks again guys and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Marvin it's great that you're taking the time to read and act on suggestions in the thread. Thanks for listening to us.

Are you adding the ten seats to this game like you added to former $225 Saturday game from the entries created by the Mon-Thur game? The Choctaw website says the player gets an entry in the drawing for playing the $60 buy in game but it still references the $225 game.

I'll be there on Saturday, looking forward to this new weekly game. I hope a lot of folks show up and continue to support the game each week.

Re: Choctaw, Durant OK Weekly Tournaments

The website has not been updated for all of our new promotions yet, it will be updated by the end of the week. We have done away with the wild cards, all the daily $60.00tournament play will get you cupons for tournament play later, so the more you play Tournaments the better chance you have at getting a discount for later Tournaments. As for the cell phone service, [I] appologize up front for that, I have not heard any new news on that topic. As soon as uper management lets us(the poker room staff) know when it will get better, I will let you guys know. Thank you again for the input and suggestions.

Any way to predict how long this will take? (plus or minus a couple hours)

Total chips in play divided by 40 = Where the big blind will be when tnmt ends.

Why am I giving all my secrets away ...geez.

Interesting, so at 70 players... About 7 1/2 hours?

Re: Choctaw, Durant OK Weekly Tournaments

Wow, I'm in shock at stumbling on good news concerning poker. Happened to be browsing 2+2 for other stuff when I found this thread...

I live in the DFW area and basically gave up on the idea of well-structured tournaments nearby. Last June after Winstar decided to charge me more $ for the same chips in their Tue night tourn, I fired off a letter to the poker room at Winstar complaining about their crapshoot tournaments structures. I argued that the response seen by more tournament offerings from casinos in Tulsa suggest a market for more and better tournaments. Radio silence.

And now I see that not only is Choctaw trying to offer better tournaments, but actually adjusting the structure based on input offered here? This is incredible--a much needed shot in the arm for me.

And to boot, wife and child head out of town tomorrow--guess I know what I'm doing Sat!

Thanks again for this--very excited.

Simple supply and demand. The reason Winstar went from 60.00 to 100.00 tues night is because they were getting 40-50 alternates every night. Yesterday I went to their weds 60.00 at 1pm and they had 100 people playing and 42 alternates.

Of course. I get why they did it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck! I experienced the same thing you did on that Wed tournament. My thing was to go up there Tue afternoon, play in the Tue evening one, stay the night, then play in the Wed one. Same thing--tons of alternates, and if you didn't register at least 2 hrs early, forget it.

In my letter to Winstar, I pointed out to them that the only way they are getting away with this (offering crappy tournaments, then bumping the buy-in without changing the structure) is the lack of supply, as you pointed out, but that that was changing with the recently opened (at the time) Choctaw casino. So it's really cool to see this starting to come to fruition...
