Is there a poker room rate, or are you better off just staying at another hotel?

pretty sure it starts the 29th and the horseshoe doesn't have a hotel so you have to find a hotel somewhere close to the casino

It says there is double qualifying bonuses? I am new to live poker tournaments of this nature. Can someone please explain this to me.

Does this mean you can play day 1A make it to day two....then register for day1C and try to make the money on that one as well??

Also I saw that each flight played down to 4% and paid 10%. Does that mean I could play till 10% make the money then if I busted before the night ended could I play another day 1 again the next day?? Any Info is much appreciated.

yes, if you make two day 2's then you will receive one 5k bonus and also have the chance at winning the thing. And yes you could end up making a day 2 and playing another day and getting paid because you made the top 10% but didnt make it til the 4%.

If you could only play one NLH event that wasn't the main, which would you play?

Event 2. It looks like the easiest to comprehend.

So to double qualify, you need to make it to top 4% twice.....but too 10% will pay out?

And man....why make it so confusing that regs have to even ask questions.

How do they plan on paying out 10% while playing down to 4%. Is each flight it's own separate prize pool until down to 4%?

That's how I read it. Saw a separate sheet somewhere (likely here) that shows the min payout for top 8-10% finishers around $650, 6-8% finishers were around $760 and 4-6% were around $880. Cat had some analysis earlier in the thread.

Any idea how long the sat. went until? I know it starts at 12:15 but I can't be stuck there until 9-10pm. Got lucky today and my seat was picked during one of the hourly drawings for this Saturdays tourney.

Is the main event expected to finish on Sunday? Or is there a chance that it goes until Monday?

Here you go. It sounds confusing initially, but it's not that bad.

So I called up to get the actual rake. Here's the break down without counting the 3% for staff:
  • 150 = 115 + 35
  • 250 = 210 + 40
  • 350 = 300 + 50
  • 400 = 345 + 55
  • 500 = 440 + 60
  • 600 = 535 + 65
  • 1500 = 1370 + 130

If you factor in the 3% here are the percentages (of the total buy-in):
  • 150 = 25.6%
  • 250 = 18.5%
  • 350 = 16.9%
  • 400 = 16.3%
  • 500 = 14.6%
  • 600 = 13.5%
  • 1500 = 11.4%

It's actually pretty standard, so I don't know why they made it so hard for the players to find them. But you need to keep an eye on the overlays, they range from extremely generous to non-existent (c'mon, HORSE and 6-max, what the hell?!).

I should also note that the single table satellites are actually a great value at the higher levels since they take the same amount for all of them (there is no 3%):
  • 80 = 65 + 15
  • 120 = 105 + 15
  • 160 = 145 + 15
  • 200 = 185 + 15

I thought $1500 plus $175 was high for circuit events. This is even worse. Its $1329 plus $171. Not sure where op gets 11pct. This is the highest rake ive ever seen on that buyin.

I actually won the sattelite and voluntarily took the $3900 cash last Saturday since I can't play event 1 (which you get 4 entries to at $350 a pop)
So is there a cash options? Instead of taking the tournament package you can get $3900 cash

130/1500 = 8.6% (before 3% staffing)
171/1500 = 11.4% (after 3% staffing)

What answer did you get?

Any chance of being able to late reg day 1h if I get there on the 6:20 shuttle from downtown? I remember the floor being stingy about entering late a few years back.

@kessler

Worst I've ever seen is on some of the deepstacks tour events. For example, the patriot poker classic last year was 1350+150 with additional 3%, for a total of 1309.5+190.5

190.5/1500 = 12.7%

on the deepstacks main it was a 2300+200 with 3% for a total of 2231+269.

269/2500 = 10.76%

Probably call if you want to be sure, but my guess is that 7:15-7:20 is when reg closes. Usually lasts through the first break.

They used to make it up to you in terms of added money. They don't seem do that anymore. I'm more willing to drive up there for good value events but not really the case anymore.

Also, are not the satellites double raked?? (you pay rake on the satty entry than rake on the entry itself?) (granted these might be the only good deals because they add a bunch of seats.
