Its still a crapshoot, but with the 40 mins day 1 it was a crapshoot on steroids once u go to the last few tables.

Why do you wanna to play deep on day 1 when it won't matter on day 2, when even if u are somewhat deep 80% of field will be 10-20 bb effective??

I don't know what you are talking about - I made the final table of the event last January and that tournament just started the 30 minute levels 1-4 or 1-6 only, then it went to 40 minutes and it was fine. Great play early on and good play on day 2 and day 3. Avg bbs at the final table was 40-45 bbs iirc.

IMO there was no other reason to make all of day 1 30 minutes except to fatten Borgata's pocket by having 80-85% of the field reentering. Add to that the slow and incompetent dealers and the utter chaos that 1st event brings the 1st day and you get a tournament that was once an A+ and is now a C-.

Yesterday at Bay 101 I would have had a top 5 stack going into day 2 but lost a huge pot AIPF with AA vs 77 and QQ when a 7 hit the flop and crippled me. I got the guy to put 70 bbs all in with 77 and the QQ was shortstacked.

Oh here's 1 more beauty from Bay 101, I just took 2/3 of Duhamel's chips and had 102,000 at 250-500. He raises to 1200 next hand, I 3 bet to 3200 and he shoves for his last 20k. I call with QQ, he has AK. We wait until the cameras come and Matt Savage comes over to announce that the bounty player is all in and at risk. Flop was 944. Great I'm thinking until K on turn and he doubles through me. I missed out on the $2500 bounty prize as well. He ends up bagging 100k and I end up getting knocked out after my AA hand cripples me(if I win I have 170k).

Again Joe, is there any way on earth you lose that flip especially after the dry flop???? What's your secret to having every hand of yours hold up??? Inquiring minds want to know.

I can think of a couple of ways:

The turn and river doesn't apply to Joe. When the flop doesn't hurt him that's it, it's over, he won already. The turn and river only applies to him when he needs to catch a card, then it helps him automatically.

The $15k starts with 50k in chips, but the first level is a ridiculous 25/50 no ante. I implore Borgata (and I encourage anyone who sees Tab to do the same) to drop this useless level and just make the levels 90 minutes on day one, instead of the planned 75 mins. In the structure for the $2.5k they have dropped the 25/50 level, and that tournament only starts with 30k. It makes no sense to have it included with an even larger starting stack size.

You're not due buddy it's the norm for you. You hardly ever lose with premiums
(AA, KK, QQ) and you're like 70/30 to hit 2 or 1 outers when everyone else is like 5% or 3%. That's a lethal combination. I won't even bring up your odds for hitting flush and straight draws, they're too high for comprehension.

Hey Joe you'll love it, played day 1c of wsopc main at the bike and lost 8000 with AQ of clubs in bb vs a lady's AA on the button on a Q high flop no less. Then I lose the rest with AA after I raised, got 3 callers, flop was J96 with 2 spades and guy flopped 96 and stacked me(I was down to 8000 at 150-300.
