Geez I am positive last year when I played they were not using the upstairs. I inquired and they stated the surveillance costs were to high just to install for the one series of classic events.
I have no idea which areas they used last year. Was just telling him where the WSOP took place.
I played in the PLO event Thursday and will probably be playing day 1A of the main tomorrow. Structure for PLO was quite good, almost too good. There were still 6 players left when I busted after 16.5 hours of play.
Played the Main today. Was a well run event and fantastic structure. Floor explanations of issues were in depth and with a sense of humor. Dealers were efficient and seemed like their regular crew.
Only one issue where an experienced dealer refused to spread a pot. Dinner at 8:30 seemed too late but the hypnotist in the showroom can be overheard starting at 8pm and happy for the later break.
Field was full of the usual overseas crowd. Got slow rolled by a name dropper 5 min before dinner break but was such a great value may fire tomorrow.
Hey y'all
I'm pretty new here, but I was hoping I could get some insight regarding the LHE event coming up this Thursday. I've played numerous NLHE events and have cashed plenty of times, but LHE in a tournament setting is new to me. How should I approach it and what are some important things to consider (other than not being able to go all in)before putting down $240 on what could amount to an expensive lesson.
Did they end up finishing the tourney yesterday? They still had 49 left coming back from dinner break. Just wondering as I got knocked out min-cashing in 50th and was sort of glad since I had to catch a flight home this morning. They weren't sure if they'd have to suspend and come back for a day 3 today.
loved this tournament. Great slow structure with a deep stack allowed for tons of creativity and fun hands. Hope they keep it the same next yr, except lets not start 14hr days at 2pm please.
and schedule it 3 days, had to know it was going to last so long.
While the 20% rake of the $250 tournaments are too high, I still enjoyed the 40,000-chip Seniors Event in contrast to the $1,000 WSOP Seniors with only 5K chips and already being in the Yellow after only Level 3.

Hopefully they'll put out a reasonable guarantee to make this event more appealing.
