Last year I went to Vegas to play some events and ended staying the whole summer. I stayed because I started binking the $575 daily Megas. I ran really good in these things but I noticed that the competition was very weak. Seemed like the whole field thought they were playing a normal mtt.

I feel like I instantly have an edge over this field even though I do not have much experience in them. However, I would still really like familiarize myself with some good literature on the subject. Does anybody have any experience with these that could offer some study advice? Any books? Anything at all to add...

I'm no expert in this area by any means, and I'm sure there are a lot of online resources. I do recall that there is a chapter specifically on playing live satellites in Jonathan Little's Excelling at No Limit Hold'em book (which is more of a compilation of articles by different authors on various discrete NLH subjects).

By telling the internet the fields are really weak, you just decreased your edge.

Not really, the reason they are weak is because a lot of good players run deep into events, and/or are tired after playing a full day and really don't wanna do a $575 mega that starts at 8pm and ends at 1am, especially with bracelet events starting at 11am nowadays.

Haven't seen a book that tells you how to run hot.

What's the deal with the daily Megas? The WSOP sheet just says they are running. Is it $575 to win $5k tournament chips? Any other megas running daily?

They're $575 to win $5k in tourney chips until right before the Main, when it's $575 to win $10k buyin. And they don't run the $575 Megas the night before a $10k event; instead they run an $1100 satellite in the format of the following day's $10k.

what makes them different than a regular MTT?

Since all payouts are the same, there are much more extreme ICM situations than in a regular MTT. Like open fold AA pre type of extreme.

Which room at the Rio are these running at this year?

They are in the pavilion next to the sts.

Has anyone played these lately? Have there been a lot of entrants? I don't like to play these with less than 50 ppl.

The morning turbos I played had 60-70.

There is a typo for the $10k PLO/8 mega on the structure sheet. It says the date is on 6/27/17. It should be on 6/25/17 since the tourney is actually on 6/26/17.
