Was there good action at Beau Rivage? I never really played there.
Update: First reports are coming in. A friend of mine owns an poker apparel business and he has a stand at the Beau. He says, there was an electrical outage at the Beau that lasted about 15 mins. When the lights came on and play resumed, MGC stopped the tournament. Rumors are circulating that the survelliance cameras were not functioning after the outage.
Play is temporarily suspended...
Im down here right now and played the 340 today..the power went out in the 1st and 2nd floors, which is where all the gambling is. They sent us on break early when th e power went out and we resumed about 30 minutes later. As far as the Beau Riverage being shut down, I was there 3 hours ago and everything was normal. I have no knoweledge of this but will be heading down there within an hour so I guess Ill give you guys the scoop when i get back.

Kevin Stephan says, according to TD Ken Lambert, that tournament play for todays event will resume tommorrow at NOON. The event that WAS scheldued to begin at noon tommorrow will be pushed back to 2PM.
screw the beau rivage ,i was there last year in the poker room and it was about 3 a.m. and was in a fairly large game with all the leatherass regs and everyone ordered coffee and hot choc and when the waitress came back with the tray of about six cups of everything dumped it on my back and all over my friggin money, the sorry ass poker room guy wouldnt even go trade my money in for dry money and would not get me a dry shirt,if i was the sueing kind i would rupture them but the waitress was so nice i didnt want to get her in trouble.in other words fk the beau rivage.
Does anyone know if there are any limit hold-em games going during the tournament, other than 4/8? Preferably 20/40 or 30/60. I'm about 90 minutes away right now and can be there this (Thursday) afternoon.
As far as drinks being spilled on you, I had a tray of drinks spilled on me at Bellagio and they did eff-all for me. Poker rooms are not like pits, where they're going to get you dry-cleaned and if the stain doesn't come out, they buy you new clothes. Never seen that happen in any poker room. Pits clearly have a bigger budget to help keep you happy. Live with it or go back to blackjack, if you can still get a bet down.
Mississippi Gaming Commission does NOT suck, BTW. They at least do their job, which is more than you can say for Nevada, where you'd better have a lawyer if you have an issue.
I spoke with Ken Lambert, Director of Poker Operations for the Beau Rivage and Gold Strike this morning and the reason they had to suspend all play was due to a major power outage. It was an unforeseen circumstance. They will resume play today at 12 noon for the events that were running yesterday and the 12 noon event will be pushed back to 2pm.
I hope everyone enjoys his or her time at the Beau; I am not going to get to make the trip this year.....
