I def. think some response would be good in regards to the structure change. I'm hoping the delay is they are in the process of making changes and don't want to say anything until they know what can be done.

tbh I think 1100 events are ok in certain markets and the 770 events should be in the less mature markets.

It may be worth emailing Stars as I think they've abandoned this thread. No comment on the structure and as we approach Feb only 2 stops announced.

With that said I was surprised as the number of runners in the first stop, being in January and in London (expensive) I expected numbers to be low but the tour seemed to be well supported (the main at least, unsure of side event runners).

oh thats fantastic news , unless you actually have a full time job and then its nearly impossible to get to plat+ , i would have thought the idea of the ukipt with the smaller buy in would be to try and encourage players who can't afford the ept etc to play in a great live tour which has a chance for a big pay day! so why not make the fpp buy in available for anyone who has enough fpp's??

To be fair, a UKIPT buyin costs so many FPPs that if you have enough you probably already are plat+

Unless the FPP buy in is a discount (1.6c=FPP) it's immoral to turn away a buy in.

Stars might argue that they'd get better value if he turned it into cash 1st but this player could then counter that it's the same value he'd get for MTT tickets. This is an MTT and it's hosted by Stars so I can't see the logic.

i saved mine up hoping to go to marbella so if i lost at poker i still had a holiday and was told i couldnt use them unless i was a plat+ which is impposible for me as even in jan i sold some packs in the market place for tcoop events that are much bigger than my usual buy in and i didnt even make gold , so i ended up cashing in my fpp's that i saved for over a year for gift vouchers for amazon which is fine and im not too upset , but the "smaller" tour should be avaiable for "smaller" buy in players , well i think so anyways!

Agree, no real reason not to let everyone do fpp buyins, the number of people with enough fpps who aren't platinum won't be many at all anyway.

Hi,

Regarding structure changes.

Apologies for the delay in answering however I wanted to run London UKIPT before I responded to see if there were any further feedback.

In the first seasons we had to play 10/11 levels per day to get through the huge fields, we received a lot of negative feedback about that as well as it also being very tough for event staff. We listened and changed to 8 levels per day finishing the ME by 9 pm but the downside was running the final table on the Monday. Unfortunately having the final table on the Monday is not very exciting for anyone, there is rarely an audience or atmosphere, the final table and the crowning of our winner is all rather unexciting for those players. This is also a regional tour for the working man/woman and a Monday finish means players have to take an extra day off work, that is something that is a problem for many recreational players. Finishing the Main Event so early had its advantages also, it had a positive impact on the side events and the schedule in general and more importantly provided a much more open schedule for our players to enjoy the cities we visit, have meet ups and generally have some fun outside of the poker room. We have found over the last few years this is one of the successes of the UKIPT and one of the reasons why players love the tour (along with our great dealers and floor staff ). These changes allow us to accommodate the big fields, keep the tour a social one and make it attractive for the working recreational player.

The changes are - increased stack to 25,000, added the 100/200 level without the 25 ante, but we will start on 50/100, 40 min day 1 (12 levels), 50 min day 2 (10 levels) and 60 min for the final day, we still finish at a reasonable hour each day and we should be crowning our winners Sunday evening. These changes were discussed internally and we also approached a number of regular players to ask their opinion. We know that everyone won’t agree but we do feel this is in the best interest of the tour and our players and the right way forward. Having said that, nothing is set In stone and this is all going to be reviewed after the first few stops.

The feedback from players at the recent London event regarding the structure change has been quite positive, however based on the feedback from this thread we are carrying out additional research/player surveys.

Thanks

Toby

With 5 day 1s for UKIPT Nottingham will any of the Day 1s be online? As I know DTD have started offering online day 1s for their other events.

I'm confused. The 20th is a Monday? Yet in the previous post you stated all tours end on a Sunday?

Hey,

Well spotted and my apologies. I copy and pasted from an outdated source, Nottingham will end on Sunday the 19th April.

Thanks

Hi Toby,

What about hotels? So far there are none for Nottingham... will this be the case for the tour moving forward?

Hi,

Sorry I was waiting for confirmation on this. Hotel packages will be available for Nottingham, probably this week. There are plans to run hotel packages for the other stops also, London was the exception due the price.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks to our event manager players can now buy into UKIPT events with FPP's with Silver+ status.

It can be seat, or seat and hotel, we can no longer credit expenses to players.

Thanks

Kind of sucks for you this time around but at least you have motivation to save them up again. Not sure where you live but you might want to try out the Marbella leg of the tour. Lots of fun.

We are in the process of finalising the hotels for qualifier packages and they will be announced shortly.

We will also have hotel deals on sale next week.

Could you guys consider running a bi-weekly 5k fpp buy in seat only qualifier? One on Wednesday and the other Saturday/Sunday.

If you run sats similar to the LAPT tour I can guarantee that you will have zero problems in regards to overlay. Having another channel for qualifiers is a good way to get new players that might view their fpps as disposable bonus money, but aren't willing to part with cash for a shot at attending a Live event.
The poster above is potentially a prime example of someone that might have used his fpps in this manner.

Hey,

As you know I don't work on that side of the business, however the team that do are subscribed to this thread so let me assure you that your feedback is getting through.

Thanks

Where did the package sats go for Nottingham? Zero listed now, just seat + expenses.
