Neil, when do you expect you'll announce the dates and location for San Remo and the Grand Final?

Re: Ask NeilJ about EPT tournament details thread

Hi All,

Dark - 64 - I have emailed our Vienna guy for tourist tips. I'll post when he gets back to me.

Happy - 65 - Any tournament that features more than one discipline of poker and has a buy in of 1K or higher. This season, we have had 3 qualifying events so far...

EPT Tallin - none
EPT Vilamoura - 1K NLH/PLO
EPT London - 2K 8 Game
EPT London - 1K NLH / PLO

Also, so everyone knows, the Omaha Award covers Omaha high and high low, so both the PLO and the PLO8 tourneys at EPT London qualified for Omaha Player of the Year points.

Miankr - 67 - There is no online DBI available for Vienna or for Barcelona. It will be available again for EPT Prague. There is parking at the hotel, but it is €31.50 per day. Our Event Manager is checking around to see if there are cheaper alternatives near the hotel.

Cheers All,

Neil

Re: Ask NeilJ about EPT tournament details thread

Hi All,

Dark - 64 - http://www.wien.info/en

Couple of quotes from the website...

There is much to see: From Gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the Imperial Palace to the Art Nouveau splendor of the Secession, from the magnificent baroque palace Schönbrunn to the Museum of Fine Arts to modern architecture at the MuseumsQuartier. Record-breaking: In Vienna, there are over 27 castles and more than 150 palaces.

This is no contradiction - Vienna is a city of many facets. Electronic DJs are a part of Vienna as much as the Vienna State Opera. Trendy clubs, "young" galleries, modern architecture and stylish shops are as much Vienna as the concert halls, the large museums, the splendid buildings and the nostalgic shops.
----------------------

Very cool item running across EPT Vienna this year - http://www.wien.info/en/lifestyle-scene/viennale

VIENNALE - Austria’s largest film festival offers film highlights from around the world this year from 21 October to 3 November. More than 90,000 cinema fans visit the Viennale each year.

-----------------------

I've been to St. Stephen's and Schonbrunn both and they are must sees if you have the time. I would rate Stephen's a bit higher than Schonbrunn, but I am more used to the church style in Italy than the gothic style in Austria, so I found it a very interesting contrast. Also, the world famous Lipizzaner Stallions are based in Vienna at the Spanish Riding School. Another afternoon well spent if you have any interest in horses at all.

Hope that helps!

P.S. - Can someone please start an official Vienna thread? - thanks

Pretty sure this answered somewhere else; but what EPT's will be offering direct buyin for all events?

Re: Ask NeilJ about EPT tournament details thread

Hey Highland,

For 2010 - Prague

For 2011 thru the end of Season 7 - PCA and sadly no others at this point. The Grand Final possibly, depending on its location. We would love to have it at all EPT's but can't

Cheers,

that sounds like, you are looking for a new location for the Grand Final?

Re: Ask NeilJ about EPT tournament details thread

Nope, since we haven't ever HAD a destination for the Grand Final, there was no destination to lose

I simply note it because when the Grand Final was Monte Carlo (and it still could be) we have Online DBI for all Side Events there.

Cheers,

Re: Ask NeilJ about EPT tournament details thread

Hi Pro,

Prague Sats start on Nov. 1st. For the most part, Sats usually begin approximately 6 weeks before the tourney.

Good luck!
