Unfortunately tourney location in a loud area makes this event a pass for me, and I'm sure many others.

Supposedly the music is turned down in the tournament area and smoking in the surrounding pit area is not allowed during the series. Considering we have had very few comments or complaints on here, has anyone that has played noticed the difference?

I was at Aria yesterday and the structure was solid and the dealers were by far the most competent I've seen anywhere in Vegas this summer.

I played this same tourney and was also on one of the edge tables (t26,s1). Can confirm it was fairly loud for the first few hours of the tournament. Definitely was better later when I got moved to one of the interior tables. You must have just missed the money at 1:30, I busted at around 2am in 28th, 36 paid.

This trip was the first time I had played at the Aria and I definitely can't wait to go back, great place.

I was at an edge table near Javiers for the HORSEament...granted, the ESPN monitor and the tourney clock formed a mini-wall of sorts, but smoke and noise wasn't horrid. Cannot say what it was like into the evening since I busted around dinner break...

I could easily see issues with smoke on the other side since you get the games instead of basically a walkway and thus more people staying put with their smoking...

Can you (or anyone) tell me roughly how late the 11AM $400's have been finishing?

I was at table 43 (iirc) during the nightly tournament, one of the tables right near the edge and kind of blocked off from the rest of the tables.. Someone wanted to call the clock on a habitual tanker, but a floor was nowhere to be found, and of course they couldn't hear the dealer screaming for one. The guy ended up folding before it became too much of an issue. But still, not great.

Played the nightly 240 a couple times during my stay after busting in sone of my other main locations. Had to wait pretty much every night i played there Great structure but lack of tables sucked and no waiting area for alternates which with under 250 runners every night during the wsop you would think they would have had a bit more space. Anyway i would rate their series a 6 out of 10.

They have been ending around 1-2am, a couple have lasted until 3:30am.
Fields have been growing the last few days. This weekend saw 236, 267, & 262 players in the $400, with first place prizes around $24,000.

The 7pm $240 has still been getting over 200 players with a high of 275.
This one lasts 11-12 hours, With first place getting 12-13 thousand.

Was loud during EDC at night but otherwise I wouldn't classify it as overly loud. Certainly didn't affect play at the table.

One of the best run tournament series period. Dealers and tournament staff were fantastic. My only complaint would be that they should add a 2-4 more tables with the alternates consistently being around 50 at starting time.

I wound up on the other edge (near the pits) for one of the nightly events. It was noticeably louder with the smoke being an issue at times. Fortunately, dealers that night were good at trying to keep people off the rail who were smoking or using e-cigs.

For the Seniors event, I got moved from the poker room to the tournament area as they began breaking tables and was at one near the floor stands in the middle of the room. Although quieter and less smoky, they also came with the misfortune of being right near an A/C vent...

One thing I heard during one of the two nightly events was that the corner table near the craps table and Javiers was that the glare from the LED display on the tower behind the two and three seat was pretty bad. More of a problem for those at the other end of the table since they had to look at it...I was briefly at the table in the 4-seat and didn't have too much of a problem with it but I was only there for a few orbits.

If I have to be in the middle of the casino floor, my experiences for the month say give me something closer to Javiers with that pseudo-wall formed by the monitors.

They need to add 3-5 extra tables on a permanent basis. During the rest of the year (non-WSOP time), they always get 20-40 long alternate lists, especially Fri-Sat-Sun. I think they only designate 6-7 tables for the tournament, the rest are cash. I'm sure they lose at least 5 entries because people don't feeling like waiting or starting with 10 bb's...

Anyone know if WPT500 registration will be in the sports book like last year?

All of the registration so far, to include even the nightly $240's, has been at the main cage.

Thanks, looks like WPT will be back in the sports book per Twitter (finally mentioned on Day 1a)

10% drop in entries for the WPT500 this year despite there being pretty good evidence for an abundance of money being thrown around in Vegas this Summer. Still a successful event and they crushed their guarantee again. But I'm not sure why they leave so much money on the table with such a conservative guarantee. Literally 10s of thousands of dollars and perhaps even 6 figures in lost revenue.
