Does anyone have any experience with this event and venue. Attending and staying for two nights.
Is it true they have no cardroom?
Will they be running cash games?

I stayed there when I went for the WSOP-C event at Horseshoe Hammond. Can confirm no poker room at that time. Hotel room was decent and had no complaints about the valet service...

what would be the closet cardroom in miles or time to drive? Thanks

I am guessing Horseshoe. I did not realize when I booked the Ameristar that IN 912 had basically been taken out of commission (bridge declared unsafe). GoogleMaps was still showing it and as a result, I found myself having to drive through some sketchy areas to get between the properties. Seems like it was about 15-20 minutes since it was all surface streets, but it has been six months since I was up there...

Majestic (I think that was the other one close by) might have had a room, but everything I was seeing suggested it was not the safest place to be walking through the parking garage as a single female...whether that was an accurate portrayal or not, it also factored into my decision not to stay there.

On Saturday the 13th, event #8 is described as "$200 NLHE Tag Team Event - Each player starts with their own 10K stack".

Anyone know how this works? If I bust out on the first hand does my partner then sit down with 10k? Do we continue to alternate play if we lose our own 10K?

If I run my 10k up to 15k in the 1st level does my partner sit down and add his 10k to our stack?

Do we alternate play each level or tag in any time we want?

Majestic Star is a 5 minute drive away. They typically only have a few tables of 1/2, but the action might be bigger when the HPT is next door.

I don't see why Ameristar wouldn't run some cash games during the event. But then again I operate from a common sense perspective and by the way society functions I might just be alone in my thinking.

I would imagine they'd love to....but then they'd have to get permission or a license to run cash games from the Indiana Gaming Commission and they are not easy to deal with.

Ameristar: No poker room. Uncomfortable area to be in late at night. Casino packed full on the weekends. HPT puts on an amazing well run event with friendly dealers, great staff. Nice Hotel Rooms
Its a great tourney to play!!

P.S. Don't valet. I did....they dented my Escalade then proceeded to give me the run around...not returning my calls and then saying they couldn't determine anything on the cameras.

Majestic Star: Sketchy place to play. Parking garage dimly lit. Long walk to casino through winding halls. Pray you don't win lots!!

Horseshoe: No Hotel. Great cash poker action in a full room!! Great tournaments. Friendly staff!!

They have run cash games in the past, so they obv have licensing.

They may have had a license in the past to do so, but they don't now and haven't for well over a year.

Ameristar used to have a poker room but it was closed down and now they only run the HPTs when it comes around.

Booked two nights there . I heard events are run well.

If you play Event #1 in Flight "A" or Flight "B", please post number of entrants and the level you were on at end of day. HPT updates can be slow.

My main plan is the Wednesday senior event and from there if I bust out to play the PLO event that same day.

I'll be playing the senior event too. Care to make a friendly $20 "last longer" bet?
