I would have bought 1B $1100 & $275 before they were sold out, but I was previously told that they were non-refundable, e.g., if you made Day 2 from 1A, you would be forced to play your 1B entry with no possibility of refund. I didn't want to be an alternate > 40 when you're already in the Yellow Zone in the third level, so there is no tournament for me to play on Wednesday or Thursday. The alternate list was > 50 when I gave up waiting for a satellite and went back to my hotel.

The satellites went dead as players were not allowed to sign up for any of the three satellites with a buy-in < $550. I only saw one $550 satellite run.

Suggestion for the 1K event next year: Since this 1k sells out every year causing many players to have to be alternates or more likely get shut out…How about adding extra flights; since we only played until about 9:30pm on day 1 (With a 1 hr dinner break) Could easily do a 11am and 4pm flight without a dinner break on both day 1a and 1b. Can allow 1 entry per flight or could still cap it at 1 re-entry for the tournament; either way is fine.
Nobody would get shut out or have to come in late as an alternate and the field size/pz pool/rake would increase by at least 50% imo

How frequently are they running the $235 satellites? Thinking of coming from Buffalo tonight to try one, and if I make it, try the next step on Saturday. But I don't want to waste time if they're not running regularly.

They are running them as soon as they have 10 players.....yesterday they went all day.

Great. Thanks!

Now for some pragmatic questions. I typically play at Seneca Niagara and have never played at Fallsview before.

1) Is there free parking there? If so, where? If not, where should I park and how much?

2) Can I buy in with US $ at the cage, or do I need to exchange it ahead of time?

1- yes, you need to sign up for a players card and swipe in/out

2-the poker room doesn't have its own cage but they take USD at any of the cashier's throghout the casino

Fallsview does not want more players

They could also make the structure better then your average $50 daily...

No reason day 1 should end at 9:30 when the structure is that bad. They obviously have room for a longer day, give players more chips. Of course this won't happen because it's all about $$$

I actually strongly disagree; this is a 1k prelim before a 2500 and a 5k main; it should be a fast structure; I don't want to be stuck in a 1k for 2days just to make the $. We should make the $ early in day 1; I'd actually prefer to play a longer day 1 so nobody comes back for day 2 without being in the $.

Well, I drove over tonight to play a $235 satellite, only to be told that they won't be running any more of them. I was told that from here until Sunday they'll only run the 550 and 1050 ones. Pretty bull****.

I warned about this puzzling decision back on February 15. Instead of earning $250 rake for every $235 satellite, the very busy satellites before February 15 have gone dead. While a 2/5 table generates $140 revenue/hour, running $235/$125 satellites if there are empty tables earns more revenue, which in turn generates more $500 rake/satellite for the $550 and $1,050, which in turn generates more entries and rake for the $2,500 and $5,000 events.

Instead, the FIVE tables that used to run non-stop with $125 & $235+ satellites have become only one satellite table that takes forever to find ten players willing to risk $1,050. A player was so frustrated with wasting so much time at Fallsview waiting for a $1,050 to run that he sold his voucher to my friend beside him for only $600!

Are the $1100 day 2 seat assignments posted anywhere online or am I expecting too much for Fallsview to do that?

Went to find my seat assignment only to be told that you need to register again for day 2 for them to generate your seat. Oh fallsview.

Huge wpt events going on and they barely have any cash games running wtf. 150+ person wait list 4+ hour wait. Whos managing this? Its a complete joke. Not only do they have barely any cash games running at all stakes, they dont have any cash games running at casino niagara for the whole week as well. I understand you need dealers for the tournaments but for christ sake outsource some dealers or something as the demand is huge and fallsview is barely meeting any of it. Complete waste of a trip never coming again.

Yeah, I witnessed this last night as well. Massive list for 2/5. The floor guys were yelling at each other trying to work through the chaos. Definitely not well set up. I just turned right around and left. But if you can get in those games, do it. I saw multiple 1/2 players from Seneca Niagara sitting in those games last night who have no business playing 2/5.

Does anyone know if the $2500 has a chance of selling out?

I'm planning on driving in from Toronto and registering around Noon, but I'm worried about getting shut out or having to deal with the scalping cluster ****.

I'm under the impression there is no way to register or reserve a seat over the phone and that it must be done in person.

Just registered for the $2500 around 6pm and I think they said there was a cap of 550 and they've sold about half that so far. There's also a 40-seat satellite running right now but I don't know if those seats are included in the cap.

You can buy over the phone, or even have somebody buy for you if you give them your PAC number and name. I estimate that there are >= 480 entries, so there are < 120 entries left, unless you are willing to be one of up to 200 alternates.

Entry cards have been made non-transferable so there has been no "scalping cluster****" this year.

How did the scalping work? What if these people couldn't sell them all, wouldn't they be screwing themselves over? Why would any player buy them for more than the $1100 they're worth, it seems massively -EV to me.

no scalping this year. was limited to one entry per tourney per players card

you can rebuy once into the 2.5k and 5k

People were paying $1800 for the $1100 in previous years.

The 2.5K and 5K scalping was a bit different a few regs (mostly idiots that can no longer beat the game) collected from sat winners and sold them for under the tourney buy in

Thanks guys. Glad they sorted out the scalping issue finally.

I ended up regging over the phone with my credit card. Had to sign and scan an authorization form and there was a 2% service fee (=$50).

Not ideal, but better than not getting in or dealing with the wait list
