They said they will not be glued to 2p2, but will answer twitter. Jack and team just arrived in Berlin.

I've mailed the casino the same question and the answer was that this is possible under the condition that name and birthday of the player in question are provided. Method of pay is cash only!

I myself will arrive on Sat noon and right now I can't imagine that it should not be possible to register at this time ...

I speak no German and just want to make sure that I'm not about to get angleshot by some local language stuff. Any other weird Germany stuff/rules I need to be aware of? Hypersensitive after the Spain/Anksy thing.

(Also, does the Spielbank casino run cash games around the clock?)
Well, I do not know but to be quite honest I wouldnt be so sure of either of these things. Eng/Ger: As far as cash games my best guess is they are played by the normal house rules meaning chat is allowed in German and English (and there are frequently some Russians or other Easter Europeans who think this does not apply to them, on the positive side they are usually terrible)
24 h: I do not know either but I doubt it. Normally the casino closes at 3 am and they would need to get permission from the city council and reschedule a lot of stuff to be running 24/7. Could be wrong but I dont really see this happening, if you're very lucky maybe at the weekends.
Other than the absurd rake limits no too special rules Im aware of, IRCC UTG is first after a button straddle.

Well yeah, you're probably right, but I cant say Im too surprised. At this casino there are normally no more than 10 tables going on at peak times. On the positive side its still in Berlin, so theres always something else to do.

Ok i managed to get a seat.

I emailed the casino. They gave me another email from WSOP in Nevada. WSOP nevada told me that they dropped a key in a safe box of a train station in my city. So i went there. In the safe, i found a paper with a code. I went back to my computer, entered the code in a secret website. The code opens a tutorial wich teach you how to craft a poker seat. As soon you manage to craft the seat, you can bring it to the poker table in Berlin and a floor will take your registration.

Easy.

The unfortunate part is that no one really traveled to Berlin just to hang out in Berlin. I for sure would have chose a better month to visit. So lets hope it is sorted.

Message from WSOP on Twitter:

"I wouldn't be worried. You must register yourself (the law). But we have 4 flights. If you go to casino after arrival on Friday, you'll get a Saturday seat"

Would be nice to be sure that some seats will be free if i want to re-enter on saturday 7PM last flight.

Here is the answer:

"If you want, register for Flight C & D at same time. Impossible to guarantee anything because it is impossible to predict when and how many people show up. Our goal is to get everyone in, even in late waves if need be."

And about the refund if you buy 2 flights and not being eliminated from the first one:

"Yes, for sure. Just do it prior to start of the latter flight, which should be no issue since morning flight ends before evening flight begins. Just remember to have receipts/seat cards on you."

"Welcome. Good luck to you...after all this, you'll only need one bullet anyways I have a feeling."

Kind words by him, or her.

So, the problem isn't really the lack of seats, but the lack of communication between WSOP + casino + public

Berlin is an amazing city any time of the year. Compare where the tournament is this year, in the centre of one of Europe's greatest cities, with two years ago, in the middle of nowhere in France!

I would urge you and everyone who is playing to get out of the area surrounding the casino (which is far the most sterile and corporate part of town) for as much as possible when you aren't playing and see the city.

If anyone needs any bar/pub or restaurant recommendations then lmk. I am now officially too old to advise on the clubbing scene though.

If anyone needs any info then call the casino! They are usually really good at answering the phone and almost all staff speak good English.

There is also a bunch of info/updates on pokerstrategy.de and pokerfirma.de

Agreed. It is a great city no doubt, with loads of sights, history, museums, shoppings, restaurants, bars/pubs/clubs, etc... but, if the main reason to travel there is to play poker I would be pissed if that was denied. Just saying.

Agreed. A lot of the regs in the casino said to me a few months ago that they didn't think there was the space to run such a big event without using the hotel as they did in previous EPTs. So I guess let's see. It would suck if a lot of people had to be alternates for stuff and there were huge lists for cash games because there aren't enough tables.

One of the other casinos in Berlin has actually closed down for two weeks. Presumably all the staff will be over there working at WSOPE

Hasenheide in Neukoelln is closed I have been told. Not sure about Alexanderplatz (they usually have 1/1 going there every evening and a daily MTT in the 30-60 range)

What are the opening times from the casino during the WSOP Europe 2015?
  • The opening times are from 11 am to 5 am, with the exception of the two starting days of the event # 2 The Oktoberfest
Will be arriving at around 3.30 pm tomorrow if all goes well, lets see if I can still play 2b LOL.

Also they apparently will ONLY spread HE and Omaha. Seems kinda crazy during a series.

So, if anyone's interested in playing some OFP this weekend here, PM me. Or if you an convince them to run it there, good work.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to exchange money (USD for Euro) for a rate better than ~5%? Best I could find online.

Do any of the Wechselstube @ Alexanderplatz Station do better than that?

Was hoping the Casino accepted wires or had decent exchange rates, but...

After reading some of the posts here I am already worried I won't get a seat tomorrow. I arrive at 9 am in Berlin by train and hope to get a seat for the flight 2c. Hopefully I get at least a seat on 2D. Should have booked online weeks ago.

Agreed. I did the same with no waiting. I imagine C will be less than A as well...although with this new payout they are doing who knows.
