Sigh, really wish they had moved it in the other direction.

Politely disagree but can see where you're coming from.

I prefer the space that the rio offers. Also, I don't think many "walk-ins" exist that wouldn't go to the rio, but I can agree there would be a few "walk-ins". It wouldn't make up for the ease of parking and how easy it is to get into the tournament room at the Rio.

It could be argued that Planet Hollywood would actually get LESS "walk-ins" due to the fact of how difficult it would be to maneuver, not to mention the extra walking that would be involved with having the wsop at Planet Hollywood. People would have time to change their mind.

Re: WSOP 2012 SCHEDULE?

yeah i dunno where these rumors keep coming up but i'd estimate the chance of the WSOP leaving the rio at around... 0%. there is no where with the parking and table space available to do it.

Re: WSOP 2012 SCHEDULE?

Asked Ty Stewart last night as he was watching the $250,000 Challenge at Aussie Millions, looks like it'll be by February 1.

Re: WSOP 2012 SCHEDULE?

Having the WSOP off strip is great for Caesar's because they keep a captive audience off the strip. It's the reason why so many cash games run down there. Of course there would still be cash games going if the series was at PH, but just think of how much of their potential business would walk over to Aria/Bellagio if the WSOP was just across the street.

Re: WSOP 2012 SCHEDULE?

January 8: Jack Effel gave the opening speech last night at WSOPC Bicycle Casino Main Event and stated "They had some last minute additions and tweaks to the WSOP schedule and it would be done shortly".

I'm not holding my breath for either day. The release of the WSOP schedule is a constant moving target. I figure it will be done after mid-February but I hope I am proved wrong.

If you go the top link - the dates have definitely changed on the dealer listing, so there's a fair amount of merit in that suggestion - hopefully we'll have it within the next 36 - 48 hours...

And hopefully it works with the flights I've already booked...
