What are the odds some one winning or cashing any event? Is there a book one can place a bet on some player or even on them self.?

Rio is offering book (with horrible odds, sometimes over 100% vig) on day 3 of all events. In theory, can't bet if you're playing. It's just at the regular sports book.

I think some of the online sites had prop bets on player X cashing or FT or bracelet, but not sure on any of that.

Nah you can bet on yourself. And yea the lines are super mega scam lines and rarely a good bet unless someone's a sicko with little results on hendon mob/google or a shortish stack and gets a super candyland line

This may have been answered before, but is event 59 re-entry? I.e. If you bust 59A, you can enter for 59b?

Re: 2012 WSOP Schedule Released (and other general WSOP discussion)

Anyone play both days of re-entry Event #9 ($1.5k) and cash?

Went to payouts this morning and they only showed $1.5k of entry fees (instead of the actual $3k), which over-reports winnings on the W-2G.

Despite having both of my $1.5k entry fees in the computer they wouldn't adjust the tax form, so I refused payout. They asked me to talk with Andy Rich "whenever he's in" but assured me that there is literally no way to adjust the payout in the computer.

This will probably end up with a call to Nevada Gaming later today, but am interested if anyone had the same experience. There was a similar issue with misreporting rebuy event buyins years ago.

Re: 2012 WSOP Schedule Released (and other general WSOP discussion)

It would be a nice bonus for Caesars to adjust for the reentry but it's not "fraud". It's two different buy-ins and they're reporting the gains on the 2nd one. It's up to you to tally up all your receipts at year end anyway, canceling out the gains with losses, so treat the other $1500 as a loss from another tournament.

Their computers couldn't even keep someone from buying in twice on the same day, so it's no surprise that they can't work re-entries into the tax component. You say you're aware of this scenario in the past, so why are you so bent out of shape that it happened again? Just hang on to your receipts and everything will work out the same on tax day.

Re: 2012 WSOP Schedule Released (and other general WSOP discussion)

Is it too much for us as players to ask the hosting casino to handle IRS forms in the correct manner? Caesars already defies the IRS when handling tournament payouts to multiple parties. Admo isn't asking for that much here...

Re: 2012 WSOP Schedule Released (and other general WSOP discussion)

i don't even think the IRS form is really wrong. Admo played Event 59A and realized a $1500 loss. Admo then played Event 59B and realized a (cash - $1500) profit. If I go play the Venetian $1100 today and re-enter it 4 times, they aren't going to take $4400 out of my profit on the W2. I'm going to show (cash - $1100) in profit and can deduct $3300 in losses. It works out exactly the same (unless you can't itemize deductions, which applies to 0.0000001% of people playing $1500s)

EDIT to add: when I got paid in the River last year, same thing, it treated my entry as $2100, even though I fired two bullets.
