There is a 21 page thread on the WSOP-E? If so, you did not put a link to it.

Re: WSOPE 2012

well done them announcing their schedule so early.

I wish they would just run the main alongside the others or run a couple of tourneys at once like mixmax/1500 plo or 5k plo/1k nl, kinda a long time to stay in Cannes for not that many tourneys as it is, especially if you aren't playing everything.

Let me guess, reading comprehension was not a strong subject in school?

Re: WSOPE 2012

No money in France, everyone's solid. And prizepools taxed 4% for NLHE and 2% for PLO.

This. Altho there is mention of four dozen side events. Anyone have any more info? Are they at the same location?

Monte Carlo isn't too far away - worth investigating if there is anything of significance happening there.

Europe is $$$ tho. I'd have to have a stellar June in Vegas before. Considering WSOPE - I'd imagine expenses to be pretty high.

I'm eagerly awaiting WSOP-AP announcement...

Re: WSOPE 2012

Last year they had quite a few side events. They need to start some earlier imo (usually there was nothing before 4pm) but otherwise seemed a decent range.

What type of buy-ins? Is it a similar concept to the Daily Deep-Stacks at the Rio or something else? Are they all NLHE? Also, do they run live sats?

My gut feel is that the side events and sats would be a bit tougher than those at WSOP because they simply wouldn't have the volume / density of weaker players. Is that a fair assessment?

Re: WSOPE 2012

^^

I cant remember exact details but iirc they had a good range of buyins for side events. Almost all were NLHE but I think there may have been one or two PLO. Other games are not allowed in France. Buyins were up to €2k. There were a number of sats to the ME with buyins of €500 and €1k.

iirc there was not much cash games action.

Standard is higher than the WSOP but lower than the WSOPE when it was in London (which was probably the toughest big numbers tourney of the year). Basically the field for the ME is something like 40% pros, 30% decent non-pros (including some internet qualifiers), 30% french randoms (many of whom were terribad). Barriere (the casino operator) ran some live sats in their casino chain which brought in some of the players. Almost every starting table had some well-known pros.

Side event standard is similar to WSOP imo. There were more pros etc but also more randoms (a polarised range!).

Re: WSOPE 2012

Nice, less than an hour bus to Cannes. I had an early flight back, so no bus, 100 Euro cab.

Re: WSOPE 2012

Did they announce the start times anywhere. Wonder if the first event (6max) is starting at 5pm again so you can fly in that day!

Very mixed field last year. Table draw of epic importance!
