There are a limited number of rooms available at the poker rate. He can't just assume he'll get it at checkout. If he can't get a phone rep to book him under the proper code, he needs to ask for a supervisor.

They give away rooms like candy with the TR program - they'll honor the discounted poker rate at check-out time.

The "Cyber Monday" promo seems to be a huge sham, hidden fees I don't normally see when booking online? Called too and got 2 different sets of rates from 2 different people? Meh, gave up will be staying at Borgata like I usually do.

For 12/02/12 - 12/06/12 is was $48 ($12 a night) which is standard for me, but then at checkout had like $50+ in fees added that no one could explain what they were so I said meh I'll just stay at Borgata those days for free.

I assume nothing. I know it to be fact over the last 10 years that I've played and stayed there.

And next time, try to do a little research and get the correct information before passing along the myth that there are no limits on poker room rates.

Well, I was able to get it all sorted out – I showed up about an hour prior to the tourney & was able to buy in & then get the poker room manager to set me up with the WSOP12 rate. The lady at the front desk said they couldn't do it there & I had to go to the poker room... It was a bit of running around, and would have been easier had I taken care of it over the phone! Ahh well, live and learn. Good news is I'm all set for the WSOP rate. Thanks everybody for the assistance.

The bad news is I already busted out of the noon tourney. Eff. Never made anything much happen. Finally re-shipped from the BB with about 22 BBs with J-6… It folded to the SB and the lady there raised it to 2.5x which she had done every time it folded to her & she was in the button or SB. Figured she likely had nothing & I had a good reshipping stack.... She had 77 & called after tanking for a few minutes. Whoops. I guess I'm a donk - what can ya do.

So, looking at 7pm tourneys now… There's one here at Harrah's, a $180 + 30, 8K starting stack, 25 minute levels, or a $100 bounty over at the Borgata, $100+100+20, 12K starting stack, 20 minute levels, missing a few levels compared to Harrah's.... Hmmmmmmmm.......... Leaning towards staying at Harrah's...

I was surprised there was only 530 or so players in this - thought it'd be closer to 800 or 900...
