[QUOTE=Beachman42;31933460]Thanks for making it fit on regular paper as well for us dinosaurs that still print schedules for planning purposes![/QUOT

Of course, glad we could help.

Re: 2012 Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza II: May 24 - July 15

Been fiddling with a new player points formula. Here are the current results it's giving out, looking for feedback.

Columns are place, and the points for an 800 player $400, 500/$600, 380/$1k, 220/$2500, 370/$5k, and 220/$10k. Numbers loosely based on 2011 field sizes.

(And I realize that the bottom values are unnecessary for the smaller fields, just showing all the numbers for the sake of comparison)

Please elaborate. Looking for feedback, the formula is easily tweaked.

Not in favor of giving more points to higher buy ins.

Why? Every other POY type award does this.

I think the higher buyins have too low of points in your examples.

EDIT: The higher buyins are tougher, and also provide more money to the points prize pool.

Best POY system is no system at all that takes any % from everyone's buyin going towards an award that likely goes to someone who focuses his summer entirely on venetian deepstack, so prizepool for each event is bigger without disadvantaging against the 99.9% of players who have no hope of getting POY, eg. those who play significant cash hours anywhere on the strip, anyone who spreads tournament action between venetian/caesars/Rio/bellagio/etc, and any type of recreational player.

Anyone else notice that the $400 events have had another 1.5% juice added?

On the previous version, the ladies $400 NLHE was with the $600 (14% juice) and the $400 was absent. Now both have 15.5% juice.

The $400 Ladies was never in the correct position. That was a mistake I fixed, as well as adding the $400 NLH which was never there to begin with. We didnt add % to them, they both should have shown the %'s they show now.

I also wanna say I lowed the % of the $1600, and maybe one other one.

Are the $1.6k's going to be 15k in chips this year? They were 20k starting stacks last summer.

Hey Tommy, I'm also wondering what the plan is for re-entry tournaments. Please let us know all info that becomes available for these. Thanks.

This.

Prefer no POY system as, like majority of players, I will not play a large number of events. What does it achieve apart from making it less attractive (more expensive) for players to choose these events? I doubt it makes anyone play more events apart from perhaps a half dozen individuals. Most players just write it off or are not even aware of it.

also doubt anyone EVER goes "omg, not playing there" just because venetian runs a player of the series

also support points increases for buyin size, it should clearly be worth more to win a 250 player $5k field than winning a 500 player $500 field.
