2012 Philly Poker Championship - Harrah's Chester (Feb 3-12)

LOL Harrah's Chester....ok now that that's out of the way, apparently they have a small tourney series starting this Friday. Sick marketing obv. Let's call it the Ninja Series. Nobody know it's there....til it's too late!

Noon start for all-

Event 1 - Fri Feb 3
NLHE 200+20

Event 2 - Sat Feb 4
NLHE 300+30

Event 3 - Sun Feb 5
NLHE 100+15

Event 4 - Mond Feb 6
PLO 150+20

Event 5 - Tues Feb 7
NLHE 200+20

Event 6 - Wed Feb 8
NLHE SIX-MAX 200+20

Event 7 - Thu Feb 9
NLHE with $25 bounty $200+20+25(bounty)

Friday Feb 10th - Main Event Sat's
110+15 (1 in 5 wins)
55+10 (1 in 10 wins)

Event 8 - Sat Feb 11 MAIN EVENT
NLHE 500+50

I'm copy and pasting the particulars from the B&M venue thread.

Quote:
NLH Events 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 (6 is 6-handed, 7 has a $25 bounty):
(there was no sheet for Event 9, but it looks the same as Event 3)
$20,000 chips, $5,000 chip add-on for $5
30 minute levels through level 10, then 45 minute levels
Antes begin at level 6
10 minute break after each 3 levels, dinner breaks after levels 12 and 30
Late/Re-entry permitted until start of level 4
Tournament will end at 3AM and resume play at 2PM if necessary

NLH Event 2:
$20,000 chips, $5,000 chip add-on for $5
45 minute levels through level 10, then 60 minute levels
Antes begin at level 6
10 minute break after each 3 levels, dinner breaks after levels 10 and 30
Late/Re-entry permitted until start of level 4
Tournament will end at 3AM and resume play at 2PM if necessary

PLO Event 4:
$20,000 chips, $5,000 chip add-on for $5
30 minute levels through level 10, then 45 minute levels
There are no antes in this structure
10 minute break after each 3 levels, dinner breaks after levels 12 and 30
Late/Re-entry permitted until start of level 4
Tournament will end at 3AM and resume play at 2PM if necessary

NLH Main Event:
$30,000 chips, $5,000 chip add-on for $5
45 minute levels through level 10, then 60 minutes, then final table 75 minutes
Antes begin at level 6
10 minute break after each 3 levels, dinner breaks after levels 10 and 30
Late/Re-entry permitted until start of level 4
Day 1 ends at 2AM and resumes Day 2 at 2PM
Day 2 ends at 2AM and resumes for final table at 2PM if necessary

I'm not listing the satellite, second chance or survivor tourneys; call the poker room for those if you're interested.

If those chips and blind time levels are correct, it's a pretty sick deep series (provided it's levels are standard and doesn't skip any/many obv)

The rake also looks low. They do the $5 "dealer add on" but if it's on a $200+$20+5, that's still not bad at all.

That being said

That's some really good advertising. First I'm hearing of it two days before it starts. That is what started the guarantee fiasco there last year...poor marketing. I've never played at Chester because of all of the negative things I've heard. This series looks like it has, or had, potential but it's too late for me to get down there.

This is a joke, right? I haven't heard a person mention this series yet, and I live in Philly area.

Sure they have no advertising but I will say that the structure of thus series is excellent. Fridays tourney event 1 has 30 min levels till dinner and 45 min afterward. 25k starting stacks.

Saturdays event 2 is 25k to start. Levels are 45 min and 60 min after dinner.

Turnout for the fall was terrible and there was a huge overlay that harrahs management stole from the bad beat jackpot. They have instated a conditional addon where if they have 200 players they'll add 10k.

I'll keep everyone posted as I'm there almost daily. Fwiw I troll all mttc live and live low stakes no forums just don't post too much.

Re: 2012 Philly Poker Championship - Harrah's Chester (Feb 3-12)

damn, why did someone have to post this thread? i was hoping NO ONE would know about this series..i've known about this before the borgata open and was looking forward to this series and was hoping for under 50 person turnout so maybe i can make a run like i did at the TAJ uspc in 2010 where they had around 75 ppl for each tourney...still good for poy points on cardplayer..lol....

now that someone posted this thread they may..get 70 ppl....for each..

the structures look pretty good for small buy in events...
they are even adding 30k to the prize pool for the main event if they get 300 ppl or more for that tourney...lol

i called them this morning to confirm this series was a go...the girl that answered the phone said yes...

can't wait......

Sorry bro.

My friend and I are coming up Monday for the PLO and didn't want to play a 7 person SNG. With this thread promotion, it'll now have at least 19 players!

Re: 2012 Philly Poker Championship - Harrah's Chester (Feb 3-12)

Saturday's event is good

hiowever, i am little worried about the tourney going into a 2nd day with those blind levels

obviously, that is a good problem to have

i am hoping for a low turnout so it can finish up in one day

Personally I'm hoping it gets enough to force a day two since so many people will get tired and not feel like coming back and just start dumping chips haha. Flashg I'm with you on that one. I've been waiting since before borgata as well. Are you a reg at harrahs?
