This infuriates me. I love mohegan sun but these guarantees are beyond putrid. Basically the guarantee is each tourney will bring 100 people. That really is just terrible

Series kicks off 2moro. It's a shame they continue to drop the ball when they have the potential to be the best room on the east coast. Take note MOHEGAN SUN POKER ROOM; There's a $560 re-entry/1Million Guaranteed that's kicking off a series next month @theBorgata. That is how you make a name for yourself and that is why they will have both casual and professional players traveling from several states away, series after series, filling seats. 3 or 4 day ones w/ re-entry, some proper advertising/publicizing and the same buy-in as your event#1 50K and I bet the same $1Million guarantee would be covered at Mohegan Sun

I agree that the guarantees are lame, but you're ****ed if you think Mohegan can generate even a fraction of the poker traffic the Borgata gets in AC.. with or without better guarantees.

Re: 2012 Mohegan Sun Summer Showdown - Aug 1 - Aug 5
def not. but the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere and Borgata basically gives their hotel rooms away is a huge handicap. that's why i said 3 or 4 day ones in comparison to Borgata having only 2. I don't care if they need to have 6 day ones, the point I was trying to make was that they need big guarantees to attract a large number of players that they're consistently missing out on. I know of several casual players from MA, NY, NJ and even CT that pass on MS tournaments and will rarely play a FW mega but if 100% have heard about it, I bet 75% of them make that 560/$1Mil at Borgata next month. And 50% of them will prob bring a friend.

Was at Event #1 yesterday and saw the AWESOME webcam they have in action !! Even spoke to the 2 guys running it.
RiLan told me that all you have to do is go the blog site poker.mohegansun.com and click on the banner at the top and the feed will show up.
RiLan...can you give anymore info on the webcam ???

Re: 2012 Mohegan Sun Summer Showdown - Aug 1 - Aug 5
Last hand of re-entry period I open with 18 k stack and guy with 15 k shoves blind at 75/150 I ask for a floor to confirm that I can walk away from -3k to re enter for full 25 k stack floor says yes of course I ask if sure cause I'm basing my call on this holding my chips out. He says yes I'm sure so I call and lose the flip ask him for re entry slip and now says I can't walk away from 10 bb stack half the table erupted over the absurdity of how sure he was that i can call and walk away that others demanded main floor be called for ruling and ruled against allowing reentry and forces me to play the 10 bb stack even tho the floor admitted to giving out incorrect info.
Not sure why in the world u wouldn't allow a player to re enter and add additional money to the prize pool and while we are on subject of suggestion; 3 levels of rebuys should be moved to 6 levels I mean it is good for the casinos bottom line to increase entry's so maybe next year u can guarantee more then 100 seats. And increase turnouts.
Hate to make you guys look bad but this was a very bad ruling/decision and robbed me of equity.
