Can those at Fallsview confirm that the scalpers had to get rid of their unsold vouchers for only $700?

Is it also true that there are a lot of fake vouchers with the same serial numbers, and that the Ontario Provincial Police is now investigating? Do NOT buy a voucher unless the seller is willing to go with you to registration, and only pay after you get your seat number.

I cannot personally verify, but I read both of these on twitter from a semi well known local player. I say 'semi well known' because I do not know him personally, but give him more credit than a random.

Also read on twitter that there were 60 $1K tickets available from scalpers this morning. This should have been a great day for Canada poker/fallsview and is a black eye instead IMO. Many top players didnt attend and fish overpaid in advance costing the casino pit game revenue.

I have a $2500 ticket available for face value in Cash, pm me if interested. Can provide tons of reputable references, have swapped funds/sold actions dozens of times for 4-5 figures on 2p2 very smoothly.

minimum 5 fake tickets sold that i heard, it seems some were dumb enough to do it near the poker room so they should have them on camera.

This series is absurd.
Tried to get a 1k ticket today which didn't happen. Asked the people at the reg desk if they knew anyone who was selling or if they knew where or had seen anyone. They played dumb and said if it was happening they knew nothing about it....Ummm its because you guys run this thing so terribly that it goes on.

How did you not get a 1K ticket? There were like 20 guys spread from the parking lot to the casino to the food court all trying to get rid of them last minute, and I know of at least 2 people who had tickets from friends that couldn't make it...

the whole thing is absurd, the transferable vouchers, not having two day 1s for the 1k, the complete lack of knowledge of the poker room staff, wait lists 100 ppl deep, its just an incompetently run event.

I didn't get there till about 2. Wasn't planning on playing.
Also people were straight up lying who were employees of the casino about a lot of stuff which is absurd.

Re: 2012 Fallsview Poker Classic: February 8-13

I'm happy to report that several people who had multiple tickets got less then face value. As reg who decided not to take advantage of the poorly run tournament and try to profit from it....it gave me great pleasure to watch people who bragged about having 10+ vouchers scrambble to get rid of them for $700 at 11:45am.

At 1:15 I was out in lobby by fountain and could have got a seat for $500.

Also heard they arrested someone for scalping but that could just have been a romour or maybe it was someone who sold a fake.

Anyway hope all this fake ticket and players losing money will force FV to fix this event for next year.
