Can't remember the last time I posted here. It has been a wild week. Fire has descended on us with a fury. I have been evacuated from my home since last Tuesday night. Fishette and I spent the last two nights there anyway but tonight and tomorrow is going to be really crucial since the fire jumped a road last night and it opens up a lot of country that hasn't burned yet between us and the fire with the winds pushing it possibly towards us, again, before the end of the day tomorrow.
This fire has been a cruel awful bitch and many have lost buildings and homes that I know.
Site with current info.
The size and map are old. It is well over 200,000 acres now and has burned further east and south than this map indicates right now.
I really hate this ****ing fire!

Hopefully you've been taking some time over the last few days and packing up the important stuff you want to save.
GL and don't waste time if you have to evacuate. Fire moves faster than you realize.

I'm still here! 
Today will be a test. We will see what happens.
I have had all important stuff packed up and in different locations for several days now so that is all fine. I plan on keeping an eye on how things go and if it comes close I have been watering lawn 5 times a day for a week now, have hoses set out complete with a small foaming unit that I can douse the house with if it gets close and a bigass dodge V10 Pickup to get me out of there if it gets too bad. I am no hero but if it gets as far as my house I am not leaving unless it is already burning and then it would likely be to go try to save another house.
Ya, don't complain about rain. I really REALLY wish we would get a bunch.

Fish, I know you want to save the house and whatnot, but this is how people die. I saw it all too often in Australia, there'd be fires most years. People stay behind thinking they can outrun the fire, but they underestimate just how quickly fires can move, and they can't outrun them and get caught in them.

No, No swimming pool or fire shelter. I have been working with wildfires for 13 years now and have had some good training. I know where to go if things get bad and I am right next to a major road with other road breaks between my place and the fire right now. The grass around our area is cut low and everything is prepped well.
Also, I will not be alone. There are a TON of people around and there will be help is it comes down to it. I will be OK, I promise. If not, well then, let me last words on here be...
