He said URI was nice. But I don't think that's where my path is leading, especially considering you'd need some kind of nursing degree or something like that. ETA: 14 millions dollars?! That's ludicrous.

I've had a couple of my students major in film at URI. Not sure what the grant entails. I know, it sounded more like a jobs training grant, but NPR didn't provide many details.

About 450 miles to Buffalo, I think. Not a bad drive.

Busto,
Almost made it to Savannah a few weeks ago, but we decided to go to Asheville and Charleston, SC, instead. Maybe next year.

Yeah, I had to downsize to a row boat, but I'm still here!

I MADE THAT
I may change it if I have a spare hour tomorrow so that she's wearing a bane mask.

Never been to Savannah. We keep talking about visiting since we're so close.
We almost made it to RI last year. Mrs. Busto thought she was going for something to do with school. I told her if we went that we'd have to set aside a day and hire you as our tour guide.
I hope you take it as a compliment and not weird that I've talked to her about you. I've used you as a reference when she wants to ask for my opinion on how to handle teaching problems in her classes. I've seen some excellent advice from you over the years.

Savannah's on my radar, too, for next year, J.C. I have a friend who went there this past spring and he really liked it. He got me very interested so I think I'll go check it out next spring/summer. Maybe our paths will cross!

Tell her when I suggest defenestration, I mean it. You'd enjoy RI for a couple days, but make sure to come during the nice weather. Winter sucks here.

School is going great. I finished a summer class last month and now am only working until I start classes and my job in the creative writing department next semester. I can't wait to start next semester. I've got all of my classes planned out for my final year, so it sort of feels like I've already finished.
I'm working with several authors right now, but I'm waiting on revisions from all of them so am enjoying using the free time to work on some of my own writing projects, and to settle into the house Mrs. Busto and I moved into a month or so ago. We finally have a yard! Slowly but surely we are realizing that we MUST. GET. A DOG. We have wanted one for years but wanted to wait until we had a yard for it to play in.
Your pictures of Florida look amazing.
When do you start your new job?
|
I started my new job about 8 weeks ago. I'm now officially out of orientation. yikes!! I don't know what the **** I'm doing. scared to death and really tired at the end of each day (12 hour shifts are actually more like 13-hour shifts spent walking up and down the halls very quickly, going "oh **** oh **** oh **** oh ****, what was I supposed to do??" !).
Congrats on the new house and yard. What kind of dog do you want?
How much time do you spend writing on your own projects? Ever find it frustrating to work with other authors?
I'm sure you've told us before but remind me again, do you have to do a dissertation for your PhD program?

Katy,
What are you doing on the new job? I'm sure, though, you're doing better than you make it sound.
