Re: Wookie's Wide Wide World of Weddings
Alright. Registry is looking good barring the flatware and a casual set of plates. Tonight I set the caterer, and I got called into consult on invitations. That, geez. "That one, honey. It's fine. Make it happen." Crap.

Don't listen to those brainwashed into thinking you need to spend $300 and a ton of counter space for great coffee. Personally, I fill a 2 cup measuring cup and nuke it for 2:30. (I've confirmed temp. with a thermometer for my microwave.) My coffee is easily ready before you can make a pot.
If you want more volume, and especially if one of you is a tea drinker, you can go for a kettle like this or this.
If you don't have one, I'd look into a conical burr grinder. We like our Breville, but the hinge on the little plastic cover in the ground coffee bin has broken twice. This Capresso seems to get good reviews for sub $100.
I've given quite a few people the Aeropress for gifts. Everyone seems to love them. My SIL is at the hunting cabin, calls home to my daughter, "Honey, would you mind driving up here? I forgot my Aeropress......"
I almost never buy coffee out anymore because it pales in comparison to what I can make at home.

Even if you have an aeropress, you still need an actual coffee machine for when you have people over. A standard mr coffee will do fine.

Why? I like regular drip coffee. French press does that better than a drip machine and is delicious. You would have me drink americanos.
YOU GO HOME. oh wait. Sorry.

Oggi Stainless Steel Measuring Cups with Ez Grip Santoprene Handles, Set of 4
Cuisipro Stainless Steel Measuring Spoon Set
They sit flat and sizes won't wear off.
Panasonic Prestige NN-SD997S, 2.2cuft 1250 Watt Sensor Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel
If you're in the market for a microwave. One caution. Unlike other models, the inverter runs continuously. (A normal microwave shuts off 50% of the time if you're cooking at 50% level.) Any item with an extended cook time, say four minutes or more, I decrease the time. For example, if I'm supposed to cook something 5-6 minutes, start with four minutes and check it. Defrosts wonderfully though. Auto reheat works great. I even use auto cook on some things.
Browne-Halco Seasoned Cast Iron Fry Pans
Better than lodge. Go for the 12". Your steaks will love you for it.
Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser
This will save you dental work. I wish I'd bought one years sooner.
Cuisinart 625-30D Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Medium Dome Cover
I've had mine maybe four years and may have to begin to think about replacing it now. But that's with daily use. I'd buy a second one in a heartbeat. I don't know of any non stick that holds up forever. You will really appreciate the fact that there's no handle hanging out over your stove.
Wusthof 9755Classic 2-Piece Knife Starter Set
My 8" Wusthof Classic Chef's knife is the only wedding gift I received that I still use every day. (Keep in mind we're past our 25th.) Pricey, but actually a stellar value.

I have a panasonic microwave already that's doing just fine for me. It's not quite as nice as tihs one, but it's more than enough.
Registered for the Lodge, and OOT and Amazon both love the Lodge. Why is this one better?
My brother is a dentist. He's almost certain to give us some sort of fancy tooth gadget, but he can get a hold of stuff that's not even on the market yet. I'll hold off and see what he does.
You're right, no nonstick lasts forever, which left me feeling a little guilty about registering for a good one. Instead, I put an All-Clad stainless pan on there that's built like a tank and should indeed last forever and be useful everyday. This Cuisinart is not too bad, though.
On top of it.
Good list, imo

Alright, and Aeropress was off and then on and then off again as I waffled, but I'm sold. On! And heck, it's not too expensive.

Re: Wookie's Wide Wide World of Weddings
FYI, you will probably find that a 10" chef's knife is more versatile. IMPORTANT: Solingen steel, not the crap from Spain, or China, or Brazil. They will (should) last your lifetime. I still have several good Solingen knives (not Wusthof) that I used professionally for 10 years and use to this day.

Also, this one will come in very handy

So much hate. Coffee is a polarizing subject it seems. I was being half-sarcastic. Press coffee is alright, but it doesn't compare to a proper espresso. No matter how much Aeropress claim it does.
Yeah I'm a coffee douchebag.
