Also, Ms. Boop's comment about spaghetti was taken to heart. I challenged K to order one setting of the flatware as a trial and to subsequently eat with them spaghetti, a steak, and...something else. I'm open to suggestions for one more food item she must eat with the funky fork.

Tuxes:
Has the bow tie gone almost completely out of fashion? Looks like everyone is wearing long ties now. Heck, even the traditional wing tip collar and pleated shirt are seldom seen in the most prominent model shots on various web sites. Thoughts? Rock the old school? Go with the flow rather than look like and out of date fuddy dutty?
Not sure about lapel style, either, so I'm open to suggestions. Vests will be some sort of deep red, unless I elect to stand out from my groomsmen and go with ivory.

Jesus, I just saw this thread, don't listen to the retards that say don't get a bowtie.
It's NOT A ****ING TUXEDO IF YOU DON'T HAVE A BOWTIE.
Long ties are informal and are basically for high school proms and retards.
you want to see what a tux is supposed to look like?

now, one thing to consider, what time is the wedding? don't wear a tux before 6:00. There are other formalwear choices for daytime weddings.

Interesting advice, I've never heard this.
Unfortunately I can't trust a croc wearer with such fashion advice. Can we get a confirmed GOS to validate this? I always trust the fashion advice of a confirmed GOS. (except the hairy one, since he claims my cologne choices are effeminate)
On that note, how are you set in the wedding day fragrance department Wookie? Have you given it much thought yet?

Re: Wookie's Wide Wide World of Weddings
Fragrance: my suggestion would be Acqua Di Gio (Giorgio Armani)!

pvn is correct. The correct name for a Tuxedo is dinner jacket, and the implication is that it is worn to dinner. There is a reason that the name of a major manufacturer of men's formalwear is After Six. The dress code for a very formal daytime wedding is the morning coat, although for anything not ultra formal a dark business suit is fine. The guests at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton were asked to wear either morning coats or business suits. For just about any American daytime wedding (other than one held at a cathedral with the bride wearing a long train), a dark business suit would be appropriate. For weddings held at less formal venues ( a private home, a country club, a restaurant/wedding hall, etc.), matching blazers and slacks are entirely acceptable in place of a suit, even if the bride and bridesmaids are wearing long dresses.
And, yes, George Clooney is definitely a fine model of how to wear a dinner jacket.
Re the controversial flatware, I looked at it and wondered about the possibility of tiny bits of food residue being caught under the decoration....
And, no, I don't wear crocs.
LOL

Re: Wookie's Wide Wide World of Weddings
So what happens when the wedding begins in the morning and ends the next morning? Does the groom go get changed aftersix?
