I learned the split games from Ray Zee and Andy Nelson. It was the stud 8 I did the best in. In those days they played $1 to $5 Stud 8, no ante, $1 forced opener, in Deadwood, Blackhawk, Cripple Creek and Albuquerque. No one raised on third street, even with a pair of aces and a low kicker, except me. A lot of family pots. The games dried up in the late nineties.
