Unofficial without this picture!

We had about 2 inches last night in Chicago. Winter is definitely here.

Not officially but it's sure starting to feel like it. So as noted by Mr. John Cole (I originally had it as JC) in the official fall thread this thread is the unofficial winter thread for all those poor people that are already freezing.

I'm at work on Sunday, freezing in my office, while vainly employing a heater fan to keep me warm.

i was ordered to do so in a way by R*R. so what was i to do.

meanwhile i just got through plowing my driveway and salting the hill which is steep by the way.

i dont eat fast food very often but thought i would at least try that dumb chic fila thingy that just got going in my town. seems to have a line around it for some reason every day.

so i pull in and they are closed on sundays. what is that. have we gone back to the 1950's.

so i went into costco and got a slice of pizza, a polish dog, and all the drink you can consume for $3.50 or something. howse dem apples.

Costco is a great place to eat for very little money. I do that at times when I am in town but start with appetizers from the nice ladies serving samples.

I saw some snow, and walked through about 4 inches of snow in Klamath Falls, Oregon just a few days ago, on a recent travel adventure. So it is winter. It's just that the shortest day of the year falls on Dec. 21; that's all.

Well, my church celebrated Santa Lucia today with our annual smorgasbord, so I say we proceed.

I have seen below zero for more than a week. It was in WI more than Montana. We got up to 28 yesterday and it felt like summer!

A lot of snow this weekend in ChicagoLand.

Also, in other places of the world, they consider Dec. 1st to be the first day of winter (for example, where my wife is from).

What is this snow thing you speak of?

It's currently 6 degrees in Great Falls, Montana. The wind is only 4 to 7 MPH. That is lucky for us because for a population of 50,000 or more Great Falls is the windiest town in the country. But the folks up in Cut Bank and Shelby (small towns) tell us they come down here to get out of the wind. LOL! The ten day forecast is showing 16 below on Friday. We've only had about 8 inches of snow so far this winter so that is not to bad.

I gamble for a living and there is a lot of driving time involved. But I stick to home this time of year. I always have the crockpot working, do a lot of reading and watching television, play a little online poker, and hit the bar next door for happy hour.

It seems like a lot of the real nasty stuff passes to the north of Montana and drops down on North Dakota and Minnesota. They closed 300 miles of I-94 in ND about a week ago.

You guys got a Popeye's Fried Chicken too. We don't even have one yet. But we've got a Montana Club. Ray, that place you used to play poker, I think it was called the Sawbuck or something like that. They knocked it down to build a Montana Club. I heard that Doyle and Chip would occasionally stop in there too. Probably not in the winter though. LOL!

On a non winter related note:
How long does a toothbrush last you?
Finally got a new one around Dec 1. The old one was a sad melange of limp bristles. I figured I was good for awhile.

The new brush (oral B) is already fading fast. The bristles are already heading in opposite directions.
So?
