What is the worst movie you ever went to a theater to see? What is the worst movie you ever went to a theater to see?

I'm mid 30's and if I had to guestimate the # of movies I've seen in the theater I'd probably put it at roughly 150.

It's really hard to say for sure. As a kid and a teen I saw a lot more in the theater, probably 3-5 a year, now it's maybe 1-2.

Lol geeze.

I would say the number of movies I've seen in a theater has got to be in the thousands...from the age of 15 thru maybe 30, easily went 3 or 4 times a week...30 thru 40, maybe 1 or 2 a week...now...1 every two or three weeks...sometimes more.

Hmmm...

Lee Daniels' The Butler or Ocean's Twelve are the two that leap invitingly to mind. I'm sure there have been others and worse.

Some places it's easier to see good movies in theaters; other places it's damn near impossible. In my 20s I would sometimes go four or five nights a week because Brown University had a great film society then, and there were also a couple good movie houses in Providence. But if I lived in West Virginia, I'd see very few in theaters.

Last movie I saw in a theater was An Education, 7 years ago. Since the year 2000 I doubt I've seen even seen 15 or so. The movie theater experience has been completely ruined as far as I'm concerned.

I try to see many on a weekday matinee. Usually only a handful of people show up and, on occasion, you can have the theater to yourself. But I don't go nearly as often as I did at one time.

I really will give that a try. I miss the theater.

I'm a matinee guy too but I usually only go a couple of times a year nowadays. But nothing beats a nice quiet matinee with few others. Once I was the only person in the theater and it was kind of creepy and the whole time I wondered if they would have run it anyway if I didn't show up.

The two closest theaters to me now are both AMC multiplexes and they have all reserved seating with nice comfy recliners so even if you are sitting next to a stranger it isn't uncomfortable at all.

Am I missing something here?
Most of these sound rather recently.

I can still remember when we were about 12 my buddy wanting to go see "Night of the Zombies "(aka Virus!, aka Hell of the Dead, evidently it was so bad they kept renaming it)
He was an OG(original geekster)and had a zombie fetish ,I wasn't too far off either.

We saved up allowance and went one Saturday, he was really hyped up, I guess he'd heard about it in some horror mag. (Fangoria??)

Our first clue was they didn't ID us, it was rated R.

Second clue, nobody else was in the theatre.

Saturday, 7pm showing, prime time.

I think it was this time of the year, so you figured there would be more people.

Anyhow, it was horrible, terrible plot, and I swear they stuck parts of other movies into this one to fill it, I don't think it was much longer than an hour.
Acting was non-existent, at least the chick took her boobs out to dance with the zombies before they ate her.

It got so bad my buddy went all black lady and started screaming at the screen.
Then started throwing popcorn at the more ridiculous parts(sound cut out, abrupt scene change, bad special effect, etc.)

It was by far the worst film I've seen in a theatre, and he still talks about it whenever he talks about things being bad,
"yeah, I broke my leg and my dog died, but it's not as bad as
"Night of the Zombies"!

Bad movie but the scene where Bruce Willis blows away Jack Black with an anti aircraft gun was awesome.

I live for dumb, brainless comedy flicks. But Strange Wilderness was truly the worst entry into that genre I have ever seen, and by far the worst movie I've seen in a theater.

I worked in a theater so I've seen a lot of bad movies, but I'll consider ones I paid to see.

I've also paid to see a lot of bad movies, but one that stands out is Andy Warhol's Frankenstein.

Spy Hard
A Leslie Nielsen spy film parody from the mid '90s.

Even though it's the worst movie ever seen in a theater it was also my best experience. Movie was so bad my gf at the time was so bored and decided to...well...make it an entertaining time at the movies.
