What do you regret?

This is a thread about mistakes you've made without realising the consequences, goals you should've pushed for but made excuses other wise, directions in life you have taken but later on realise it wasn't the best one.

ITT we reflect and rue.

I'll start with one not about me, but my dad. Hence the reason this philosphy shapes my life. My dad is a director of a muiltibillion company. He wishes he stayed on course to be a mechanic, when he was young. Spend more time with family, help keep parents in a relationship. Did so, so he could provide a stable future for familiy, then realised he was suck in a soul sucking job till too old to enjoy life, with a "non optimal family "

Re: What do you regret?

In case you can't read it:

I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

I wish I hadn't worked so hard.

I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings

I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends

I wish that I had let myself be happier

Like what? Poker? Porn? Why did you choose not to work hard at those things?

Re: What do you regret?

Not spending more time visiting my mom after my dad died in 2003. She lived alone and passed away almost a year to the day after he did.

I never worked hard when I was shooting porn. BOOM! Thank you, I'll be here all night.

I didn't work hard at tennis or my writing/film career when I should have. Talent only gets you so far.

Re: What do you regret?

you know...I have very few regrets in life because I only made a few mistakes, but as I get older, you might almost say that in itself can be a regret -

I'm reminded of that commercial about the grandpa talking to the grandson about how after the war, they were in Paris, and there was a group of guys always going out, partying, womanizing, and being the troublemakers. And he goes to the grandson -

"And you know what?"

Grandson "You wish you had"

Grandpa "every single day"

Re: What do you regret?

I hate to sound douchey and all, and this might be a very personal perspective, but once you have kids, regrets just disappear and become quite insignificant. I'm not saying I don't have any, but they just seem trivial now.

Regrets? I've had a few.
But then again, too few to mention.

I wish I hadn't waited until I was 30 years old to go to university.

Only 25 but have some regrets

-I wish I had never wasted 2 years in college doing pre-med
-I wish I never went on vacation last year as I have not been able to study for my CPA exam since getting back and I only have 1 More part to go. I also wound up blowing through most of my money but I could never have predicted FTP would be shut down fortunately I still live with my parents
-I wish I never played on FTP

P.S I have some projects underway and the future is looking bright, so I guess sunny days wouldn't br good if it wasn't for rain.
