Big Sandy also sings with Los Straitjackets. He asked me if I wanted to sing at the Farmer's Market in L.A.

Saw Springsteen in "84 when I was 16. If you can see The Boss in the mid 80s while a teenage boy, I highly recommend it. Played four and a half hours straight. Four encores, last one was Clarence Clemmons playing Santa Claus Is Coming to Town on his sax. Amazing concert experience, and one it would be pretty much impossible for me to top.

On the flip side, saw Dylan twice. He was absolutely terrible both times. Once he only played 40 minutes (it was a Dylan concert, not a festival) and was so drunk he repeatedly forgot lyrics he'd written himself.

Went to an open mic night at a local coffee house. Mostly good music (acoustic) with a few embarrassing moments but everyone was supportive. Some songs were quite good.

Concerts don't do much for me. I have seen perhaps five in all, most in the 70's

Saw The Tubes, twice; Jackson Browne, Eurythmics, Hoyt Axton, and The Pat Matheny Group (in the late 80's).

Would like to see Mozart and Beethoven some day. Preferably doing a smash up organ orgy in some gothic cathedral in France.

Remembered three other concerts to fill out my quota: James Taylor, Yes, and Jethro Tull - all in small venue places.

Most concerts are too big, have too much music, too many people, and too much vomit.

A Bach organ orgy would be the ultimate concert. Hold the vomit.

I couldn't begin to list all of the concerts I've gone to over the last 40+ years, because I'm sure I'd forget to list quite a few. However, I'll never forget the very first concert I attended: Uriah Heep at the Hollywood (FL) Sportatorium in the summer of 1974.

Does everyone else have vivid memories of their first live concert?

Monsters of Rock in Dallas. I was 14 and somehow my parents let me go with my 18 year old cousin and her friends. 4 hour drive in a Z28. It was a million degrees outside and they were spraying the audience with water the entire concert. It was a sea of boobs. Metallica killed it but everyone else sucked. I lived a Cameron Crowe movie that weekend.

First concert ever I was in the 4th grade and my parents let me go see KISS playing a fair. It was when they didn't wear makeup and basically had no pyro but I loved every minute of it.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Faith Hill/Tim McGraw before they were married
Dave Matthews Band
Korn-show cancelled halfway through, drummer broke his wrist supposedly, crowd sucked
Marilyn Manson
Fleetwood Mac
Paige + Plant
Emerson Drive
Toby Keith
Interpol x2
U2 360 tour-amazing show it was a downpour with lightning.
Lorde
Smashing Pumpkins-free outdoor concert downtown Minneapolis , mayor gave them the key to the city
Brad Paisley/Sugarland/Sara Evans
Tommy James and the Shondells
John Mellancamp
Everclear w/Redman
Ozzy w/ Rob Zombie and Slipknot

2 Live Crew- the night before my wedding in a small venue. Only had two remaining members and the show started like an hour late guess they thought they were still legit enough to do it but it was like 2006 haha.

Concerts I had tickets to that got cancelled-
Aerosmith w/Cheap Trick
Counting Crows w/Collective Soul and Live , seriously bummed about it

My favorite part of Dylan shows is reading the set list the next day and realizing there were 5+ songs which I love and he played, yet didn't recognize during the show.

I've seen him maybe 7-8 times and only one stands out, a college show where he did a near 30-minute solo acoustic set.
