It was my favourite concert ever outside of festivals where you had numerous bands.
I first saw them in Montreal, when they opened up for Sonic Youth in 1997. They stole the show. Don't mind Sonic Youth live, but this wasn't there best outing. As far as God Speed, nobody had heard about them and they came out with a splash. At the time, they had no cds yet released, but a vinyl of F♯ A♯ ∞, there first album.
I saw them a few years later, again in Montreal, for their third album, Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, and that show was out of this world. I was really high, and they took us along for a ride : it was quite the journey. With the flow of the progressif music, they projected images on the wall, dream like images of the deterioration of our world. It made me bad trip. And with the music, the paranoia kicked in. Until the release and suddenly the word hope was projected on the wall, over and over again. It felt like a death like experience to then resurface to life.
THe third time was in Vancouver, a couple of years back. It was good, but nothing like I experienced in the past.
