seen too many to recall, but the most memorable ones were:

ELP (my first)
Rush (multiple times, including one where we got front-row tickets... I think my ears are still ringing from it)
Concrete Blonde (hugely underrated band imho)
The Replacements
Marillion (post-Fish, but still great)
Joe Satriani (with Eric Johnson as the warmup, awesome)

Just got back from Rush tonight. Good show. Geddy can't make the high notes any more, but still high energy and good music.

Last week saw Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris and Jackson Browne in an acoustic show.

Nice and relaxed, performed songs solo and together.

It was my favourite concert ever outside of festivals where you had numerous bands.

I first saw them in Montreal, when they opened up for Sonic Youth in 1997. They stole the show. Don't mind Sonic Youth live, but this wasn't there best outing. As far as God Speed, nobody had heard about them and they came out with a splash. At the time, they had no cds yet released, but a vinyl of F♯ A♯ ∞, there first album.

I saw them a few years later, again in Montreal, for their third album, Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, and that show was out of this world. I was really high, and they took us along for a ride : it was quite the journey. With the flow of the progressif music, they projected images on the wall, dream like images of the deterioration of our world. It made me bad trip. And with the music, the paranoia kicked in. Until the release and suddenly the word hope was projected on the wall, over and over again. It felt like a death like experience to then resurface to life.

THe third time was in Vancouver, a couple of years back. It was good, but nothing like I experienced in the past.

I've probably seen 100+ shows but here are my top 10-ish

Springsteen-Not a huge fan but that MF'er puts on a hell of a show

The Cure 4 or 5x-Disintegration Tour; my favorite album ever

The Smiths-Summer '86

Madonna like '84-mostly because the Beastie Boys opened and got booed offstage when they brought a giant penis out and shot shaving cream out of it into the crowd

Roger Waters-The Wall couple years ago...just because that album is so sick

Bob Mould Acoustic-probably 1994 or so...250 person theater and he destroyed

U2 probably 8 or 9x-best in like 84

Coldplay 5 or 6x-They put on a great show and got to take kids so that is cool

INXS mid 80s

Depeche Mode on Violator tour maybe 88??

Pet Shop Boys-mid 80's...lol had no clue they were gay (not that it matters but just funny how clueless I was)

Yes. Went on a friend's advice fall. Fantastic, high-energy show. Even though I didn't know quite a few of the songs, really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended.

Wow what an underutilized thread!

I am bumping this because I just purchased 2 tickets (subtle gf brag) to see Modest Mouse on their upcoming tour.

So SO SO SO SO excited to see them. They rarely tour, and even less so on the east coast.

There is a short list of 3 bands that I would travel >5hrs to see, and Modest Mouse is at the top of that list by a mile. EXTREMELY excited to see them only a couple hrs away.

I've seen Sigur Ros twice; once with about 500 people and once with about 5,000 people. 11 years apart. Incredible both times, but the 2002 concert at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta was one of the most amazing musical experiences of my life.

Phantogram was awesome. Saw them at the Brooklyn Bowl - best venue in Vegas. Was with Daliman, Chuddo, and our respective women folk....

When I was a kid, I don't know, maybe 13 years old or so, my parents told my brother and I that they had a big surprise for us. We had to dress nicely for it, which was very confusing. We hopped in the car and drove downtown...

...to a Four Tops and Temptations concert.

I have really "retired" from live shows, but I do still watch a lot of dvd's. The Zeppelin reunion was great, just watched it again!

I just bought tickets to the Modest Mouse/Brand New co-headlining tour in both Atlanta and Raleigh.

I'm still in moderate shock that these two bands are doing this. Two of my all-time favorites, same night, no crappy undercards, no crappy 3 day festival of filler. Unreal.
