Some of mine, extra shows, that I remember for various reasons....
1990/1991 - Mudhoney - Walked out of the show with my hat signed by the Ramones. They were in the balcony and were kind enough to sign for me. I was the only one they signed for so that made my, well hell I still covet that memory.
Lollapalooza I (1991) - I was a 90 pound 17 yr old twerp who was crowd surfing during Living Colour's set. Corey Glover motioned for me and the crowd obliged. Corey pulled me on stage and I got to stand there with him, what a trip that was!
1993 - Flaming Lips (Main Act) - Could not stand the F.L. but I bought a ticket simply because Green Day was opening for them. Got Mike Dirnt's auto on my Kerplunk cover.
1996 - Bad Religion decided to do a few NY shows at a few joints for 5 bucks a ticket. I remember skating around NYC buying tickets which were simply square pieces of colored copy paper with some imprint on them. I remember these shows as being frenzied and awesome. I actually have a set list from one of the shows.
Descendents - After the show having Bill personally hand me the sticks he used.
The last show the Beastie Boys ever did in the NYC area. Besides it being the last show (who would have known) I remember getting there crazy early. Bucky, who was a roadie with the band came out for a smoke break and got talking to me. Next thing I know he's got me inside just sitting there on a fold out chair in an empty hall as the Boys are doing a sound check before the actual concert. Bucky was the sh*t and I am grateful for that experience.
Shows I regret not seeing
1991 - Beastie Boys at the Building in NYC. 5 Dollar show which I did not go to because I was a 17 yr old frosh at college in the Bronx (new for me). No one wanted to go with me and I was too afraid to go riding the subways up and down NYC/Bronx alone. God I so regret that decision to this day.
Even though my music collection consists mainly of punk/hc I do love me some Dave Brubeck. I never got to see him although there were times I could have. I was so sad the day he died, I LOVE his music.
LOL...yeah probably and not even notice
F what Marston posted back there...when I was kid first going to shows yeah my Mom hooked up a $20 from time to time SFW...then Key Food hooked it up for a while, both legally and illegally...shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell anybody
Anyway I myself never really was into the whole getting autographs deal only because I always felt like it would be a bit rude of me to sweat them like an hour or so after they played...but I did get a couple in my day.
My favorite was back in 05. The Bouncing Souls were playing the Rocks Off Cruise Boat and I was hanging by the merch booth. Wilkie was there doing the merch like he always does...and for a lot of other bands as well. I see this drumhead laying by the table with the band logo written on it. Wilkie said Bryan was fn around and drew on it and said I can have it. Of course I took it
got him to sign it first as a lol. Then I got everyone to sign it including K8 Is Great, and Johnny X. Definitely one of my favorite shows of all time and a really cool experience...one of many with the Bouncing Souls.
The kicker was everyone at the show when they got off the boat got for free The Show Must Go OFF: Live at the Glasshouse DVD that wasn't coming out until later that year. Anyway I know a bit too tl;dr but here is the pic below
